...Kurt Cobain himself.

Smells Like Teen Spirit has finally made its way onto a music game and Red Octane got their hands on it first. Along with Smells Like Teen Spirit, Guitar Hero 5 also has a live performance recording of Lithium with the game.

But what do you think? Is this insulting to Nirvana and/or Kurt's memory? Should Rock Band have been the first to get Smells Like Teen Spirit instead? Did Red Octane/Activision do a good job or a bad job with rendering Cobain?

I think that they did a poor job rendering Cobain. They made him look like he's been soaking in a pool for several hours. It looks like they only looked at the 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' video and part of the MTV Unplugged performance to decide on how he'll look & move.

And why the fuck is he standing stock still? He was all over the place whenever he preformed in a concert.

Discuss.

I don't get what the deal is with that song. The main riff is a slightly more complicated version of More Than A Feeling, the guitar parts in the verses are boring, and the solo is shit.

Nirvana themselves are highly overrated and their music is dull.

They are far from technical. I can't see it being challenging.

I listened to Nirvana when they were still playing. Its bizzare to see kids who were about 4 at the time walking round in there merch. There were far better bands of that era than Nirvana. I preferred Alice in Chains my self.

Would?, A much better choice.

Has there been any Faith no more on GH yet?

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was a terrible song. Nirvana are so overrated. Alice in Chains, Faith No More, King's X are way better musically and lyrically that Nirvana ever were.

The main deal probably has to be that it was the defining song of the 90s/best song of the 90s/was gen x's anthem/etc. As far as I know, they've been trying to get their hands on Teen Spirit since the first Guitar Hero came out.

The other thing probably has to be that the ***** Courtney Love holds pretty much all the rights to all the Nirvana songs, and since that's their largest hit she wouldn't want to loosen her grip on it.
