The game is well worth it regardless of platform. While I have seen the Wii port described as a shoddy one - not without merit, since it does have issues, and it's up to personal preference as to how major those issues are - the fact remains that it is a port of a magnificent game. The Wii has (my opinion, I've seen the opposite expressed) better controls for drawing, although the PS2 controls are by all accounts passable, and greatly inferior combat, which you won't notice if you stick to the beads, but it is there and can detract from the game.Phantom_Natal said:As soon as you mentioned rythm with wiimote I panicked, well seems to me it's worth to experience the wii one.
Pretty much how I get with some games.Phantom_Natal said:As soon as you mentioned rythm with wiimote I panicked, well seems to me it's worth to experience the wii one.
Have you by any chance played zelda? If so, do you see any similarities in the negative points you just gave out?Samurai Goomba said:Whichever version you get, expect ridiculous load times in between even the tiniest transitions.
And the game looks great, but not as great as you think when you get up close and realize almost every object in the game world is a one-dimensional rotating drawing (aside from people and enemies, obviously). Personally, I think Okami is overrated. Not BAD, but not amazing either. There's loads of dialogue, but so much of it is completely redundant and not particularly well-written. Combat is simple, the gameplay starts to feel padded all to crap later on and some boss fights (all boss fights) repeat way too many times, like the devs just ran out of original ideas halfway through and started pulling level designs (especially the last level) out of their butts and copypasted enemies and bosses from old levels to fill things out.
Still, not a bad game.
Actually, no they don't. I have indeed played both versions (I love the damn game) and the Wii controls can be much faster and more instinctive once you figure out to hold the button that allows you to draw a straight line. It makes things like the Power Slash, the Cherry Bomb and the goddamn Blockhead assholes much easier to do.Nmil-ek said:Ps2 Brauh both versions look pretty much the same but I imagine the Wii controls would get old fast.
Actually you're wrong. I see Okami going for about £15-20 used here, but the older PS2 version tends to go for around £20-25.comadorcrack said:But I say the PS2, cos you'll get it cheaper.
Um...Would that be the imaginary version that was released on PS3? Or did you just play the PS2 version on PS3?Nerdfury said:I've never played it on Wii, so I don't know how well the controls were ported, but I can vouch for PS3 being awesome. Some people say the drawing mechanism was tough on the PS3, but the game pauses while you paint, so it's not like it matters.
Either way, if you haven't played Okami - you are in for an absolute fucking treat.
Oh, sure. Except the dialogue and hardware limitation thing is pretty much entirely on Okami. But yeah, I don't consider Zelda games immune to criticism or anything. Also, while Okami feels a lot like OoT (especially with regard to pacing and gameplay structure), the game is about a million times longer, so it's only natural things start repeating. I'd much rather see the repetitive content and talking cut, but that's just me.Phantom_Natal said:Have you by any chance played zelda? HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHA ! HAHAHAH- oh wait your serious?!zombie711 said:wii has the better controls
What a polite and forward way to act like a tool. Yes, I meant PS2.freakyalex said:I actually own both versions. The Wii version is slightly better looking, but the motion controls are a bit fiddly at times, so I guess I prefer the PS2 version. And I bet you can find the PS2 version for cheaper. Both are great games though, so it's up to you which control scheme you prefer.

There's no need to be so sarcastic, if you didn't know what Okami was, why did you just randomly select the two consoles and pick the better one?ahlycks said:Well, SORRY that i did not know what okami was.Octorok said:ahlycks said:it has a wide selection of games, and it is cheeper. nuf said
Uhhh... did you even read the thread?
Well done there, you completely missed the point of the Poll. The OP is asking whether he should buy a specific game on one of two consoles, not which console to buy. I can only assume that you just skipped the actual "reading" part of posting in a thread and went straight onto the typing based on the words "Wii or PS2".
OT : Wii. The controls are better, it looks much nicer and the game was given an overhaul.
