When you go swimming at the public pool, do you ever take a leak? I'm assuming here that you are aware that the idea of chemicals in pools being able to show you urinating is a myth. [http://www.snopes.com/science/poolpiss.asp] If not, you do now!

So, how do you feel about it? Is it harmless? Is it disgusting? Does the fact that virtually every pool on Earth undoubtedly has a decent amount of piss in it horrify you? Does it not bother you much, but you yourself won't do it?

Personally, going all the way to the head soaking wet is a chore. Much easier to nonchalantly ease away from people and just let it go. Ahhhhhhh. :D

And yes, this is my escalation of the "peeing in the shower" thread. ;P

I can see your tricks. I know what is going on here. That's it man, I'm just too fucking smart for this shit. I know exactly what is happening. This new line of threads, and what is to come. Three, maybe four threads down the line, and BANG! "Poll: Peeing on your partner". That's right, I can guarantee you a golden shower thread will be coming. Great glorious gods of ancient times, help us!

OP: Eh, I never go swimming anyways, so it isn't an issue for me. The thought of being submerged into pissed-in water though isn't a pleasant one. At least in the shower it gets washed away pretty much instantly.

While I agree that it's probably going to happen, I won't be the one to do it. Not because I'm too decent, but because I try not to repeat or escalate my own threads. Someone else will have to handle that one.

In the shower it goes down the drain, but in the pool, there's tons of chemicals that keep the water clean. I realize it's perfectly natural to have an aversion to swimming in some amount of piss, but when you break it down there's really no reason to disturbed by it. It's not hazardous, that's for sure. As someone who loves to swim and has accidentally swallowed more mouthfuls of pool water than I'd care to say, you learn to get over it pretty quick. I'm sure Micahel Phelps has, and he's an American hero! 'Murrica!

I don't swim, this is just one of the reasons.
Also I hear they're putting in some fancy new chemicals into that water so that if you pee it'll be dyed a very noticeable blue, so EVERYONE will know you have no shame and mock you for it.

Peeing in the pool is like picking your nose. Everyone does it, nobody admits it. And those chemicals, as I pointed out in my original post, are a myth. They can technically be made, but they'd also react to things like sweat or other organic compounds. It's just not feasible. Thoroughly embarrassing your customers for something harmless isn't good business practice either. And also, what would they even do about it? They'd have this big blue cloud in the water, so... then what? They'd evacuate the pool until it's filtered out, which would be a lengthy process at best? No. It's a myth.

I have in the past (as a kid, it was ages ago... stop lookig at me...) But don't do so anymore, I go swimming once a week (in theory, it's been a while) and mostly just try not to think about it. I do stay out of the kiddie pool for just that reason though, "all" kids will just let it go, so there's bound to be a higher concentration of urine in those pools.

I did when I was wee girl. A few times. Not very often.

Nowadays, no way. I outgrew that and it's totally gross. Plus it'd be silly of me to get in a tizzy about people sexing in there and all the body fluids that must seep out in the midst of it and yet not having an issue with urine in the pool.

Not friggin likely, I have never (and I never will) pee in a public pool, thats nasty and everyone who does it should be denied access to public pools.

alternativly they should make a pool full of piss so that people who pee in the pools can go there instead

It's fucking disgusting and I won't associate with people who do it.

Living in Australia, swimming in pools is a pretty gigantic portion of general life. It's just not acceptable.

I'm not kidding, if someone has done it since leaving primary school I wouldn't let them in my pool.

Yes there's chemicals in there for that, I don't give a fuck.

I don't swim in your toilet, so don't pee in my pool.

No they don't.

I pick my nose all the time. I freely admit it.

It's not harmless.

Ban the person for life. Take their photograph and email it to every public pool, hotel, resort, and gym in the country.

I don't think you understand how frowned upon this really is.

Probably when I was very little and my parents wanted me to take swimming lessons so I didn't drown if I ever fell into a body of water, not that I remember peeing in there. However, I don't tend to go into public swimming pools anymore. They just, can't seem to maintain them well where I live.

I can see people going in the Ocean, that one doesn't really bother me, but a public swimming pool; that's just gross.

And no, I don't. I may do it in the sea though. Michael McIntyre made a very convincing argument.

Also, these threads are heading in a bad direction.

I was somehow thinking worse than peeing on, even though it would require a superpower only mentioned in the useless superpower threads.

Really? First the shower pissing thread and now this?

Is this our new trend? I mean, it's better than that whole Feminism/Rape discussion wave, but still.

And to answer the question, usually no, if I like the person who owns the pool. If I don't, I don't really care.

The best part?
[sub/]you'll never know if I like you enough to keep your pool clean...[/sub]

Not for a long time. But I have in the past.
I dont wizz in the ocean though. It attracts sharks. And even if that is an urban myth or something, i'm not gonna take that risk.

I remember a few years ago there was a news article talking about an outbreak of gastro that they were blaming on more people swimming in public pools...

...All of a sudden pee doesnt seem so bad.

Also, i'm surprised at how many people dont go swimming. But then, I am Australian, and we're born with +50 swimming ability. I cant imagine not knowing how to swim. That would be weird.

Barbarian. Peeing in water is for Lakes, Rivers and Oceans...

It's like Fast Food - you know there is a percentage of bad, you just try not to think about it.
