I loved the toy story movies, but I get Pixar mixed up sometimes. Who made The Incredibles?
Pixar.

It is my personal favourite out of the Pixar collection. Just the deep, adult message behind the kiddy fun... it was amazing! And I cried during the Up montage of the two children growing up. It was so, well, deep and nostalgic.

Has anyone seen all their shorts? The full-length films are great, but Pixar is also a master of the short film. Look up "Lifted" on YouTube (I struggle to embed, so sorry). It is hilarious - a masterpiece in 5 minutes.
actually i thought "Presto" was the best, just reminds me of the old looney tunes cartoons. you know, cartoons that were actually good and not the crap stuff thats on cartoon network right now
My favorite is "Day and Night," the one that they show at the start of Toy Story 3. It was fantastic animation and the story was very heartwarming.

Well, I'm just trying to think of a reason why I should hate Pixar, hah. The only Pixar movies I didn't love were Cars and A Bug's Life, and I still kinda liked A Bug's Life.

They're damn good, so why hate them?

The only person I can imagine hating Pixar is someone who tries to denounce them as "mainstream" so they can continue being elitist. Not saying that's necessarily true, it's just all that comes to mind.

I love them, of course. Their earlier movies (most notably the two Toy Stories, A Bug's Life and Monster's Inc.) hold incredible memories for me, and I recently re-watched them, and their still amazing as fuck. Even though I'm still only 15, they brought me straight back to childhood, albeit this time I may have been a little bit more analytic about the movie, and maybe understood some dialogue and undertones a little bit better. But they didn't muddle my memories of them, they were still amazing.

I plan to definitely go watch Toy Story 3 (it comes out on the fuckin' 16th of July here, *grumblegrumble*), and I expect it to be every bit as good as Pixar's movies have been for the last 15 years.

I haven't watched any of their recent ones (at least, not since Finding Nemo or The Incredibles, whichever one came later)but I loved Toy Story 1+2, A Bugs Life and Monsters Inc.

I adore Pixar, they have yet to make a movie that I dislike. I'll definitely be going to see Toy Story 3.

pixar are the ideal production company. they either put out something fantastic or not at all
Nah, they had a few "misses". Thing is, I can't recall another studio with this high ratio of "hit per miss", so to speak. You can forgive "Cars" when the same company also put out Toy Story, Wall-E and Up.

Pixar are an amazing studio, they manage to make movies that attract kids but are also entertaining for adults through subtle jokes and underlying themes.

I think they're amazing, but I don't watch them in the cinema. I watched Wall-E because it was in Glastonbury a couple of months before it was released.

Pixar is fantastic!

HOWEVER, if they dont ever make a sequel to 'The Incredibles' (which I think is their finest work) then its not really going to be a movie I will be very excited to see. Ive seen every Pixar movie and they are all great in their own way. If I was going to rank them it would go like this...

1. The Incredibles
2. Monsters Inc.
3. Toy Story 2
4. Finding Nemo
5. Toy Story
6. Cars
7. WALL-E
8. UP
9. A Bugs Life
10. Ratatouille

Ratatouille was kind of a niche movie...I didnt really like it much but it wasn't bad. I haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet (comes out this Thursday here). It will probably slot into the #5 or #6 spot on the list though. It annoys me that they have all these other movies in progress but NOT THE INCREDIBLES 2! I think The Incredibles has so much potential, how can they not make a sequel!

If this question was bieng posed to Dreamworks, it would make more sense.
Dreamworks have made some good, some bad, some VERY VERY BAD films in their time.
See the different parts of Shrek for pretty much all of these.

Pixar on the other hand have an ability and a tendancy to make pure GOLD.
Up, Wall-E, Toy Story.
These films capture something within a childs imagination and turn it into a motion picture.
Kinda like how Steven Moffat takes childrens frights and turns them into Dr. Who enemies.

But what i really like about pixar; they don't make unessesary sequals.
For a full explanation why why Toy Story and its sequals worked so well, talk to Bob, his Toy Story 3 review pretty much spells stuff out.

Shrek has been going on FOREVER though sequals, comics and other gimmiky crap so that dreamworks could hold off having any new ideas for a while. Oh yeah, and make lots of MONEY.
Oh yeah- and did you hear that How to Train your Dragon is going to become a sequal-spawning francise too. Yeah... that sucks.

Because while Pixar movies are "for kids" they also have very deep undertones which you as an adult (well, you're 16, so 'sort of' adult) can relate to, and therefore you like them. It's the deep subtleties in the movies that make you appreciate them as an adult.
Yeah, this. I love Pixar. And as others said, there are people who hate Pixar? I've never met someone who does.
