Well if you haven't figured it out by my name I am a BioWare fan, and I am having a bit of a dilemma. You see I am going to buy Dragon Age: Origins. The problem I have is whether or not I should get it on the 360 or the PC. I am pretty sure my computer has good enough graphics to play it, the requirements didn't seem to be ridiculous when I checked them, I also love my achievement points. Also I love the portability of my lap top, something my 360 lacks. So I ask you PC or 360? mManeuverability or graphics power? And will the PC version allow me to earn my sweet gamerscore points?

Gamerpoints don't matter.

What they should do is allow some sort of conversion between gamerscore and microsoft points.

PC version will offer better graphics (if your computer can handle it). Also, you can't use the zoomed out overhead view in the console version. Overall, I'd say PC offers more options, so I'd go with that.

Depends which era of Bioware games you like most.

If you liked Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, get the PC version, as it plays just like them (point and click, isometric viewpoint). If you liked Knights of the Old Republic more, then get the console version, as it plays more like that (over the shoulder, direct movement of character, automatic combat).

If you have a modern graphics card and care about pretty, then get the PC version, because it looks staggeringly better than the console versions, which are oddly not really up to much graphically (Either of them. I saw them at the Eurogamer expo on Saturday, and they were easily one of the least impressive graphical experiences there, with fairly low detail environment textures making them look all brown and blurry. Character models look competent but uninspired. On the other hand there are a wide variety of character models going around. The only real difference to expect between the console versions is a slightly more solid framerate on the Xbox version).

I always prefer PC to console if the machine can handle it well. I'm an achievement whore I have to say, but I generally buy PC and play it through, then rent the game for the xbox and let my magpie tendencies run rampant. That way you already know the story, and can thus play through it somewhat faster; but still enjoy the differences that the console has, such as fiddly little icons for silly little tasks ^_^ And you can always buy the console version later when it isn't so expensive if you decide you want to raise your gamerscore.

As someone will be getting the console version, I'd suggest PC. These kinds of games just work better on that platform. Only get it if you (like me) are worried about performance issues.

What's the deal with gamerscore and why do people want more points? Is it a universal ranking system or something?

Supposedly it's a lot better on the PC.

I say PC, easier to use the numbers on the keyboard for quickcasting, Graphics will be better, zero chance of a red ring of death at a crucial moment.

See, when I started playing games the only thing there was was your high score.

This is no different.

Xbox wont have mods, and the PC will have better graphics.
Bioware did say they're gonna try and port the best PC mods for the game to consoles eventually.

Wrong wrong reasons.
PC version if you can.
Why? The toolset. Even if you aren't going to make anything, you'll have access to plenty of User made MODs and quests and such. So why the heck wouldn't you get it for PC? Plus the controls will probably a lot more intuitive for those who remember the beauty of Baldur's Gate. But seriously, it's a no brainer if you have a good rig for it.

I'm getting it on 360, but that's only because I don't have a gaming rig.

No. Or I sevrely doubt it. Either way, it doesn't really matter. If you want the best Dragon Age's experience, go for PC - that was how it was designed to be played, really.

If your PC can run it, buy it for the PC. This is because the game was originally designed for the PC and then ported to consoles (PC version has been gold for about 6 months now) and because of this, the controls for the PC version will be a lot more intuative then those on the Xbox.

The way I understand it, the PC version allows you to use the isometric viewpoint and the over-the-shoulder third person view. The difference is that the isometric view was removed for the console version due to controller issues.

Pc version this argument ends with one word - Mods.

Anyway the 360 version will suck by comparison the PC version will have up to 40 npcs fighting on screen the xbox will probably send waves of five at you.

If your pc can deffinetly handle it then get it for your oc, but if your pc isnt totally up to scratch then get it for the 360.
