The biggest flaw in enjoying the great variety of classic arcade and fighting games on XBox Live is that the 360 controller either doesn't feel right, or is flat-out detrimental to the gameplay experience. Thankfully, the Tekken Wireless Fight stick finally fills that void. Once again, I can flawlessly execute Street Fighter II moves and feel like I'm really playing Double Dragon like I did in the arcade instead of on a cheesy emulator.

The biggest perk, and reason I waited on this specific model, is that this controller is wireless. To some, that's not a problem, but I had no interest in buying any wired controllers or peripherals for my 360 in the interest of keeping my entertainment center uncluttered. The parts are solid, and you get that wonderful clicking noise when you move the joystick. The controller is made by Hori and has an 8-button arcade layout which responds nicely without any lag or problems. It doesn't appear that you can easily change the buttons to put in custom ones or different parts, but that's not something I have an interest in; and the only tournaments I enter are beer-fueled. It's fairly light, though sturdily built, and can sit on a table or lap comfortably.

Despite enjoying the Tekken series in general, the artwork on the arcade pad was my only real disappointment with the purchase. It's not necessarily bad or poor quality, but it felt like an attempt to recreate an arcade platform that fell a little flat and doesn't quite pop like you'd expect.

Overall, it's a great controller that I'm very pleased with, and would definitely recommend. The bundle comes with Tekken 6, Wireless Fight Stick, and a hardback art book of the characters; a nice, though superfluous touch. Even if you're not a huge Tekken fan, the price and quality of the controller in its use for arcade and fighting games made it well worth it for me.

Price made it worthwhile? its £100!

I was tempted, but, what with the recession and all, couldnt really justify it.. £100 for a peripheral that will be obsolete next generation just didnt make sense to me

I prefer wired controllers tbh, no need to charge (and its cheaper).. but my 2p and 3p controllers are wireless, so no tangling- best of both worlds! :)

$129.99 USD with free shipping/no taxes on Amazon.com. Looks like UK got shafted a bit on price rate unfortunately.

For me, once you subtract the $60 for the game, it's paying $70 for a fight/arcade stick I really wanted. Since a wireless regular controller is $50, it's a pretty small difference; and recession be damned when I need my 80's/early 90's video game fix.

My SFIV tournament stick was £200. But that's the one with actual arcade cabinet parts.

Didn't make me any better at Street Fighter either, at which I suck completely, but it's awesome for bullet hell shooters.

I don't know about the ps3 version but the 360 one WILL NOT be completely obsolete next gen, I mean it probably won't work on the next xbox, but I can confirm that just like the 360 wireless controllers the fight stick is usable on PC. So after your 360 has been retired by the new gen your fight stick can live on via your PC.

And that means you can use it on MAME, for absolute arcade faithfulness. Also MUGEN, for infinite beat-em-ups.
