Easy question for anyone who's played the game: which of the 3 gangs (and Ultor) did you find the hardest to take down?

Personally for me, it was the Brotherhood. A couple of missions there are ridiculously difficult, especially the final mission. Stupid monster trucks...

Conversely, Sons of Samedi are the easiest. It's why I always tend to take them out first. I get an easy foothold on a third of the city and more stuff at my disposal before trying to take down the other 2.

i found the bosses for the ronin to be harder( i suck at swordplay), but there thugs easy to kill
i found the samedi to be had to kill in there vehicular but become they become a faceroll once you have the RPG
and the brotherhood had the trickiest thugs, but there are easy to kill in there trucks with smg's
and ultor, by that point i was so OP from side-missions it was easy.

The ones with the swords. no, they're not particularly challenging when you have an assault rifle, but that there can be ten or mre that just drive in on bikes and start swinging swords makes them a bit more difficult.

besides, they have samurai swords. thats immediate qualification for badass.

That is dishonourable. Sure honour isn't exactly a priority for the Boss, but still. Plus just gunning down Mr. Miyagi at the end of the Ronin missions (can't remember his actual name) would have made for a much less satisfying conclusion.

Samadi are not here? They were the hardest on account of one mission, one very ANNOYING mission. The fish warehouse stronghold. On hardest mode (which is not usually hard because this game is generally really easy but anyway) that mission is ball crushingly hard and frustrating.

Edit: oh ok they are here now

I usually try and take out the Ronin and Samedi first and hit the Brotherhood with all the upgraded and beefed out weapons. The monster trucks aren't so bad with the best machine gun with unlimited ammo. I really like fighting the Ronin since you can steal their motorcycles.

I dunno, I found them all about even.

The whole game was pretty much insultingly easy, even in Hardcore difficulty. SOMETIMES it would get kind of annoying, like the monster truck mission you mentioned, but that could be solved by just being really cheap and hanging out in one spot while shooting everyone through the windscreens. The AI is too busy being completely fucking retarded to do anything about it.

Not that that detracts from anything.

Well, I'm of the school of thinking that honour means jack shit to a corpse.

And I think that throwing away your sword and just gunning him down would have been fitting. They would represent the sword and thrwoing them away to be replaced with a better more efficient weapon would show them how obsolete they have become.

But you wouldn't have gotten the on-the-phone taunting and the whole "leaving him in pain to die in the explosion and fire as you leap to safety" thing. And that was the best of the gang endings. Except maybe blowing Dane to hell out of the window, that was pretty badass too.

I didn't really find any of the main gangs too difficult, but I think the "hardest" gang are the Pimps, especially at night.

All you have to do is insult one of them and then suddenly dozens will appear and start uprooting fire hydrants and parking metres and pound you to death.

Actually, they're not too hard since they easily die under a hail of bullets, but I had difficulty with them because I like to engage in a gentleman's game of Fisticuffs with them and more often than not, I found myself swarmed and overwhelmed before I could beat up my original 2 or 3 opponents.

Once they swarm, the Pimps can be quite deadly because even though they originally only engage in hand-to-hand combat, as soon as you escalate the situation they'll respond with appropriate force, so if you pull a gun then they'll also draw their guns and it doesn't matter if you've got a Minigun and they only have pistols, you'll still be gunned down in a hail of bullets because there's always more Pimps around than you think there are... they're like flamboyant Ninja locust.

Akuji.

Personally I found them all to be pretty much equal in terms of difficulty. Honestly, I found it much, much easier than Saints Row 1. I don't think the gangs were as good, either. Well, I suppose none were as lame as the Rollers.

Ronin because of thta fucking mission where you have to chace the guy on his motorcycle and he takes a really hard to follow path. Granted I beat it by staying in close range while my friend got into a helicopter and missled the SoaB.

Haha, I have so much fun just getting into a fight with a pimp horde on that game.
OT: I'd have to say the ronin for the fight with Juynichi(not sure if spelled right) I didn't have as much trouble against akuji for some reason, but the first sword fight was a pain in the ass. I'd have to say the Samedi would be second worst because of the police station mission. Having to fly a weaponless helicopter while being attacked by other helicopters armed with homing missiles is no fun(the shit checkpoint on that mission didn't make it any more fun).

They were all pretty even... I wanna say... The Brotherhood. Don't know why, I actually didn't have any problem with the final mission. Sniper rifle. Fucks up everyone. I just feel like they were the hardest, don't know why. I think the pimps are actually the strongest.

Probably the hardest mission for me was chasing down Shogo, I kept getting knocked off the bike.
Overall, though, the toughest gang (at least at 5 stars) was the Brotherhood. Goddamn army of Compensators... (Ultor COULD have been the toughest, but the idiots climb out of their APCs if you get close enough, leaving them for you to steal)
