My wife showed me this gem of a website.

http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/Home_Page.html

For only $110 your pet can be watched after you are enjoying the Rapture.

I find their ToS to be quite interesting...

If subscriber loses his/her faith and/or the Rapture occurs and subscriber is not Raptured (aka is "left behind") EE-BP disclaims any liability; no refund will be tendered.

In the event of the death of the subscribing pet owner prior to the Rapture the contract will remain in effect. EE-BP will continue to honor the contract for the remainder of the contract period. We do not adopt / rescue animals except as a result of the Rapture occurrence.

I really hope no one has actually paid for this...

Capitalism fuck yeah. I love this guy. And the guy selling plots on the moon. America is based almost entirely on duping the moronic masses. I give this guy thumbs up.

Ah, Atheists and Christians helping each other out and getting along. That's the way it should be. Forum members, take note.

HAHAHA!

Thats pretty funny... taking advantage of people's beliefs and the concept of 'what if' (it happens within 10 years).
Although I am confused with the religious beliefs of the founder... as he has to be christian to believe in 'rapture' but the basis of this is having Atheists do stuff?
Meh... hes probably an Atheist just taking advantage of Christians. Hi 5 that guy!

...that's what the rapture is?

i was christian until quite recently. i really think that either me or that site is very wrong about how the rapture is supposed to work.

and there is something very wrong with the "it's ok, we are atheists, so we can stay on earth while you go to heaven because you believe in god" message that i got from it. if you are looking to do this in the event of the rapture happening, then you are acknowledging the possible existence of god, and are therefore agnostic rather then atheist.

...hmm, there seemed like there was more of a point in the last part when i typed it.

This is brilliant. They're gonna make money of idiotic Christians, and they're gonna make money off of people who pay for giggles.

Please explain in greater detail how America is based on scams. I must have missed that one.

Is it some kind of 'After you die' site?
Yes, but only if you die from being raised in the Rapture...and only if it's within the next ten years from the contract.

I sincerely wish I had thought of this... though admittedly it wouldn't be as profitable here in Aus as it undoubtably would be in America.

I'd undercut him by doing it for $5 if I had the time or effort to spare.

Yah! Bijou and Belle will be able to have a place to stay after I've come home!

I hope this website isn't real...then again I kinda do, just to see what type of people feel like their pets aren't going to heaven.

that still manages to make no sense.
it sounds like some kind of Bioshock advertisement.

I'm going to guess this is just a parody of those sites where Christians sign up to have an e-mail sent to a relative or friend they fear won't be raptured up.

Each
Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you've received your reward.
Really? Confirmed atheist eh? I question that, since a true atheist wouldn't believe in any of that Rapture stuff so wouldn't see the need to save anyone's pets. ...except maybe to extort money from extremely stupid gullible people.

I know it's a joke but I don't like how some atheists take advantage of christians. I'm not christian myself but if someone has that faith let them believe it (regardless of how ridiculous it can be [small]no offense[/small]) and not force them towards something else.
Though I do find it pretty funny. If anyone takes that seriously I WILL eat my foot (maybe).

I find this site far too amusing, but at the same time, horrible. If people were to do that, they probably deserve to lose the money. Its totally a scam, but targetted at the right people for once.
