It's been about 6 months since the Escapist redesigned itself, what does everyone think? Do you love it? Hate it? Just don't care? Or have you joined in 2012 and now you don't know what I'm talking about.

Here's [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.333280-Poll-New-Escapist-look?page=1] the big thread that people were using to talk about it, as you can see it didn't receive universal praise, but I'm curious about people's opinions now.

It's not too bad, mostly the same stuff except for the home page and top. I just don't like all the white, especially surrounding the comments sections
The blinding white spaces were a frequent mention, but it was also one of the first issues addressed.

So thoughts anyone?

From the beginning I was meh about it, I didn't really care either way, and now, I don't really notice it.

I've always liked the redesign generally since it was released as it made navigating between the sub-forums easier, the only initial part I didn't like was the blinding white sides mentioned in the OP and thankfully that was fixed pretty quickly.

Okay with it. I've gotten used to the brighter colors, but I don't like when I by accident mouse over "Forum" and all the other subforums cover up what I want to read. Or that sometimes when I mouse over "Videos" nothing shows up until after 3 tries.

Seeing as I've set the background skin to the old style, I'm fine with it now.

I admit, in spite of my initial vehement opposition, I've gotten used to it. >.> I'm pretty fickle. Though I'm sure as shit glad they added the option to change the background colour, because that incandescent white was killing my retinas when the switch first happened. 0_0

Yes as one of the things I liked about the new design is the drop down boxes which is more convient as oppose the old way of going into Forum and then Off-Topic.

Honestly, I can't even remember what the site used to look like at this point. I'm perfectly used to the redesign and I really like the redesign.

Now that the blinding white has gone, I'm largely fine with it.

... apart from the goddamn dropdown menus at the top of the page; half the time they don't work, and the other half they appear when I don't want them to.

I can't even remember what the old site used to look like, that shows how little I cared about the old version, and how little I care now.

I can't remember before the redesign so I'm going to say that this is the greatest design for a website ever and the design before this was laughable in comparison

I've gotten used to it. Still prefer the old design but this one is alright.

Mostly. The drop down tabs can be a bit annoying, taking a few passes to get rid of sometimes. At least the blinding white is gone now.

Can no longer remember what it used to look like.
I remember my main complaint, aside from the blinding whiteness, was that the front page looked messy, but I never spend time on the front page so I don't care.

I've definitely gotten used to it. I can't even recall what the old design looked like...so I suppose it doesn't matter to me now all that much.

I was fine with it back then, and I'm fine with it right now, the only thing I don't like is the lack of access to this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/features/issue/1] area where you can read the escapist issues, from when it was structured like a magazine, even using the search bar doesn't seem to give me access to it, I have to go to my E-mail and find an old E-mail which has a link to it, it's a little annoying and I would like it if there was some way to access this from within the site.

It's okay. I've gotten used to it but I still don't like how the news feed is relegated to a tiny little box right at the bottom of the page where you have to scroll down for. I think that something like that should have way more attention. I'm surprised they never did anything to fix that in all this time.

I still don't like it. I had to get NoSquint for the blinding whiteness and the site doesn't have the same "feel" to it like before. It's like someone went in my room and categorized all my stuff. Everything is there but not like it used to be.

I don't remember the old site now, I just know that it was much better. A lot of the load time bugs and glitches have been squashed, and the customisation of fonts is nice, but it still feels really rushed and cluttered. I mean, we still have the same reply/quote buttons on the forum, but a completely different layout, and they don't exactly fit.

So yeah, I still hate it, but I've given up all hope of it changing.
