Werewolf all the way. The vampire bonuses simply aren't worth the costs, and having to be mindful of when/where you are is rather silly. I got the werewolf thing accidentally and since it makes you immune to disease with no negative side effects, I said fuck it and stuck with it. I used the beast form solely to run around, until I got Shadowmere. Since then, I haven't used it at all, it's purely a disease-immunity thing now.

Well seeing as I really like vampires... them. Sure they're a lot more complicated, but I like it. =) Plus I know what it's like since I was a vampire in Oblivion. I'll definitely be a werewolf on another character though. Just to see what it's like... and of course a character that is neither. I'm on team vampire. =D

wasn't this a thread a few days ago? It was a poll too..albeit a not as complex OP if I recall correctly.

anyway I keep going werewolf cause I played a vampire in Oblivion and it just became a chore. I enjoy getting a fun ability with negligible drawbacks.

Vampirism in Skyrim is really more a hassle than it's worth. Seriously. But, unlike MW and OB, you can catch and cure it as many times as you want should you change your mind.

The cure is also exceedingly easy.

Werewolf is really useful for getting around, and fun for combat every once in awhile. Being a vampire is just a chore.

Really? That's cool. I caught vampirism on a character that I didn't want to be affected by it and went searching for a cure in oblivion. The cure was a *****! I gave up...

Unlike being a vampire there are no major problems being a werewolf, except not getting a sleeping bonus (who cares). Also werewolfs destroy everything, and that's why you hardly fight any, but fight numerous vampires.

Voted Werewolf.

I dislike both Vampire and Werewolf mythos, but of the two, werewolf feels less arbitrary. In Skyrim's case the Werewolf mechanics are almost entirely non-intrusive making them fun.

Raj has been both, was real pain in Wife Mjolls neck! Hahaha!

Ok, I stop with horrible puns before someone try to stab Raj.

Think Werewolf is better. Much easier. And people only freak out when you change.

Not like being vampire. All the feeding, and you cant go into the sun, and you develop horrible addiction to moon sugar!

Ok, Raj was addicted to moon sugar long before he was vampire. And i never go out in sun anyway. Hurts when i forget turn night eye off.

But Wife Mjoll says im best as neither. she say, "You shed enough as is", and, "Touch my neck one more time!". So Raj touch her neck when she not looking.

Still have limp.

If you're a vampire, you can't turn into a monster and go on a killing spree and have awesome kill animations that involve you either biting their throat or mauling them. Although, ever since I got that daedric armor that I heavily upgraded and enchanted to reduce destruction magic cost by 100%, I haven't used werewolf very much... Hmmmmm... I need to find me a good bandit infested fort and "let the dogs out" if you know what I mean ;)

Werewolf because there really are no negatives, vampires can make Skyrim rather unplayable when a town completely turns on you the second they see you.

Yeah but on the flipside, that could make things rather fun and interesting. If you're into role-playing that is. But if you buy and play Skyrim, why wouldn't you be?

You pretty much can't quest if you're a vampire, everyone in town just goes aggressive. Role playing or not you're pretty much going to be limited to doing solo stuff in dungeons with no NPC interaction as a vampire.

Werewolf. Hands down.
1) The disease immunity is lovely.
2) You don't lose much later in the game with the lack of rest bonuses.
3) You have an ace in the hole when things get... er... hairy.
4) You only have to worry about people finding out if you do something really stupid.
5) You can get a Daedric artifact that lets you use Beast Form twice per day.

Edit:
Oh yes, I forgot.
6) To become a Werewolf, you have to get cozy with the Companions, who are the grittiest bad-asses this side of Elsweyr. After you turn they are ON YOUR SIDE. NO MATTER WHAT.

I hate Skyrim's vampire, it sucks. It's great for roleplaying, or if you want to give yourself a challenge.

The werewolf exceeded my expectations.(*)
I like how it plays out. Lets say you want a little something to help you in a tough situation.
Cue the Werewolf.
Pro: Once a day, you turn into a killing machine, fury wrapped in fur.
Cons: There is no honor or dignity in your uncontrollable fury, and to keep the beast alive, you must consume your fallen foe, or an unlucky farmer.

Yeah, to some people, that's awesome, no problem.
Those people can deal with the Silver Sword guys that hunt them down.
And if your honorable, is the power of the beast worth feeding this horrible creature?
This is what my Redguard(a high-spirited, brave, do-gooder) probably asked himself after killing a fisherman during his first turning.
I'm ecstatic and excited by the mere exclamation, anything else is mere excretion of an eccentric mind, and should be execrated.
