Hello Escapist,

As you all know by now there is a lot of mixed talk on the net about Dragon age 2. I made this poll to see some numbers about what you think of it.

And what do you think is the best and/or worst of the game (so far as you played it)
I'm still waiting to get my copy (lazy postman be damned) and am worried that it wont hold up to expectations.

EDIT: poll was F*cked, tried to fix it.

2nd option from above should say: it's Good
and the last option: dont care either way about it

I'm 18 hours in and am on Act 3. I think it is a very good game. Though some things fell flat for me like
Isabela pulling a Morrigan with a revelation at a critical time. It just didn't have the same impact as in Origins.
But one thing is for sure: Merrill is complete win.

I literally just finished it about... 3 minutes ago. The ending is just a MASSIVE setup for a third game, more or less like Mass Effect 2. I facepalmed hard at that.

But, I'll be damned if I didn't say I loved every minute of it.

It's a meh.

Not undecided, that's how the game is. Didn't have much to hate about it except the bland characters (except Varric), didn't have anything to love either. It's ...good as in you can have fun but I would also count it as one of the worst RPGs I've played. I blame that on the characters and the fact that they tried to insert cameos into EVERYTHING.

Best...well...some quests are nice. The plot is interesting, cliche but alright.

The worst...the NPCs, dialogue...other quests. Depends on the types of games you enjoy. Others would like it and as for me...DA2 had a better story that DA:O but I still enjoyed the first more which is not saying much. Then again I have recently started to detest all that Bioware creates.

Only been playing for a couple of hours but it's defiantly worth the purchase. The inventory has been simplified a bit too much though the skill trees are much better. Can't wait to see what's next.

I'm loving it, personally. I'm just about to hit the Deep Roads after exhausting my side quest options.

I personally think it's better than the first. I appreciate games of all type, but I think a well established main character can tell a better story.

I'm, oh... at least 10 hours in. Probably 15 or so. Anyway I like it more than the first game so far. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Personally, I find the story much more interesting as well.

I've finding it hard to play a rogue with Bethany, Merrill, and Aveline as my usual combat party.

3 vulnerable, low health characters is annoying on hard mode. Especially since Merrill is most effective at close range, with her tendril spells.

But I'm 15 hours in, and have no real...goal. In terms of plot.

Grinding for 50 sovereigns again is going to MASSIVELY lower replay value of this game for me.

I'm liking it. Merrill comes with me everywhere. I love her. She is Dragon Age's Tali/Liara. Combat seemed bland and boring at first--mash attack until enemy is dead--but now that I have skills unlocked, it's much better. Linking moves together is awesome.

I love it,I'm already working on my third play through. Also I gotta say I love all the characters even though I think Isabella is a hamfisted character who is a little to trashy.

I just hate the copy-pasted dungeons, I feel they should have exploited the city which is so well designed. But I gotta say, I am in love with the Knight-Commander, something about her character design is awesome, might be the only character is the game I actually like along with Varric/Aveline, the rest of the crew, I just can't tolerate any of them specially Anders and Fenris > . >

The only thing that I really disliked is the copy pasted areas, that's about it. I like it about as much as I liked Origins, better than I thought it was going to be.

I think the game is great. I do miss Orzammar and playing as a dwarf though. I make up for it by playing as Varric during combat. But, i think that is a very small complaint. Hopefully in DA3 we can get a nice mix of the best or origins and 2.

Despite what the morons who havent played the game think, i think this game is (in my opinion) on par with DAO

Pros
-Good written characters (except maybe fenris)
-Good twists (wont spoil anything but "all that remains" made my eyes glaze over
-Combat redone
-Interesting story
-Love the art style
-Awesome humor/cameos

Cons
-The combat (yes its in both)
-Overly used locations
-Insane enemy numbers (how can 50 "guards" fit in one mansion anyway?)
-Over use of blood magic (is EVERY noble a blood mage now?)
-Long loading screens

Overall i love it :D

It's great. It's not awesome because it's not as good as Origins. I still hate the dialogue wheel but after the expedition the game grows on you.

Glad to see the majority still thinks it's good despite the flaws, so it probably wont be a total waste of cash.

I will probably kill my mailman next week, since it did not get delivered today.

When talking about combat, i'm guessing your happy about the more dynamic style it displays on the screen (mage auto attack sure looks better then in DA) but against it because of ...what?

I agree with the 'blood magic' criticism.

Every bloody mage uses blood magic all of a sudden.

I didnt like how they went from realistic combat to over the top, but i admit it does make it better to watch, so im mixed
