Poll: So hypothetically , if heaven and hell exists , where do you think you'll be sent?

Well... um. Which Heaven? There are lots of religions with lots of different heavens and lots of different requirements to get into the different 'heavens. So this is not a question with one answer. So let's give it NUMEROUS ones.

For the different religions:

Catholicism: Hell. I'm not Catholic/have not done any of the sacraments (baptized, confessional, ect.)

(most) Protestant: Hell. I am not Christian/no sacraments/ I blaspheme lots.

Islam: Hell. Same as above, basically. Oh, and bacon is delicious.

Judaism:I would be up for resurrection when the Messiah comes about. Because I am... a person.

Buddhism: I'd probably come back as something pretty nice, maybe a monkey or perhaps even a cow if I was better than I thought; needless to say Nirvana is a while away.

Shinto: I would be a Kami of little note, but a Kami.

Hinduism: I probably got a few dozen more cycles on the path of the moon till I get to the path of the sun.

Ba'hai: I don't know much about any of Ba'hais more specific tenants but I might end up somewhere in 'average' for distance to the big guy.

Taoism: I will go into my own personal 'heaven' governed by my own personal Tao, my private spiritual universe. So heaven, I guess. I haven't done anything soo bad that I get fucked by demon's if that's what you are asking.

The hundreds of Chinese Folk Religions: Don't ask me to dissect this hodgepodge of spiritual nitpicking, lets say trickster spirit or something.

But In the end I think I'm a decent person, maybe a hair more than decent. And seeing as I'm an atheist, I'm okay with that: I don't need nothing to justify beeing a good person.

But I assume you refer to Christian views of the afterlife so i checked hell.

I just thought about this. If we´re dead, what´s stoping us in hell from rebeling? I mean, it´s not like they can kill us again.

Assuming a Christian god, I'm easily in hell.

But I think gods are myths. So I don't honor one god over others and I don't attend any churches (unless I am visiting a friend or family, in which case I go and sit quietly out of politeness).

So definitely in hell.
dude you sound worse than Hitler. /sarcasm.
seriously, what god would punish you?
oh wait, the one who made two people, forced incest on them then made incest a sin.
Shit dude! So hostile. I highly doubt God would send Gay people to hell :/
Most of what people talk about in the bible concerning gays is in the old testament where God was by no means short of an Ass at times.

But In the new Testament Jesus only established 2 new rules that would act as a precedent for humanity.
1.) Love God
2.) Treat others as you want to be treated.

Alot of that old world stuff can hardly carry on or even apply to society. If anything I blame the extreme conservatives for even bringing up such barbaric and old world rituals

I do remember in Dante's Inferno that the souls of the Damned are usually trapped in some sort of fashion in constant anguish.

The gluttons are constantly eaten
THe Greedy are chained to balls and chains representing their desires
and plus Hell did have Guardians such as Minos, Cerberus (Gluttony), Black Winged Devils and even Centaurs :/

Highly doubt a rebellion in that Hell would work. Plus there are plenty other versions of hell from different beliefs that are quite restraining

Example: In the belly of Leviathan

And I didn't know that was Dante's Paradise.
Don't worry about it. If it makes you feel better, that's not the only work of fiction that got mixed up with dogma. For instance, Lucifer was given that name in John Milton's Paradise Lost. There is one mention of the name Lucifer in the bible, and it's when god curses a vain human king.

That Lucifer is the devil's name came from Milton.

Conversely, the idea that the angels are all male, shapeshifters, and regularly have sex didn't really catch on so much.
Ah yes, now THOSE are the Angels that I know about. Why they ever removed the Book of Enoch is beyond me. It gave some nice insight as to the corrupt nature of some angels

?You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination.? Leviticus 18:22.
it also says men cant have anything come out of their body, so its a sin to have a piss, or a runny nose (they were probably just going for sperm, but they buggered the wording up).
and women have to do everything men tell them to. so saying 'stay in the kitchen' is basically just exercising the wonderful christian values. also, according to the bible, the punishment for mass-murdering an entire city is losing your inheritance. which is the same punishment as fucking your stepmother (Genesis)

and personally, i believe none of the bible. but remember, god says He is infallible, and he's infallible so therefore he's infallible. therefore all of the Old Testament is true (remember, it has to be taken as a whole, and it prophecies Jesus, so without it the New Testament is just a lovely work of fiction. that says it is.)

How do you know that? Have you been to Hell and check it out?
Have you asked God how he is planning to judge the world?
God's actions according to the Bible and the Qur'an speaks for themselves. He's the biggest asshole ever.

Here's a fun idea: try counting the number of human fatalities caused by god and compare them to the number of fatalities caused by Satan in the bible. I promise that the results will be quite interesting. ;)

According to Christianity, Hell. Largely because I don't believe in Jesus as god.
According to Judaism, Sheol and because I'm a gentile I'll stay there.
According to Islaam, Hell because I don't believe in the teachings of Muhammad nor in the existence of god.
According to Hinduism (a lot of it anyway), I'll be reincarnated as something other than a human.
According to ancient Greek myth, I'll be in the Asphodel Fields.
According to ancient Norse myth, I'll likely be in Hel, but possibly Valhalla depending on circumstances of death. Let's call it something like 95% probability of Hel.

I think that about covers the basics.
Basically me too.

The gift isn't spelling, is it?

Kidding. What's your gift though?
If my spelling is of, it's becouse of my dislectia.

My gift is the knowlage that I don't have to earn the right to go to heaven, but I only have to accept it as an gift. A gift that has been given to me by God and Jesus.

Becouse by His(Jesus) sacrafise I'm going to heaven. I don't have to do anything for it, I just simply accept the gift Jesus is trying to give me. Thats all...
Keen for a wee friendly religious debate? (Via PMs, I don't want to clog up this thread. Well I do, but it would be a dick move on my part)

Apparently OP's wishes to keep this thread off of religious debates are being squashed by certain assholes...
Hell is different depending on who is talking about it, since it's based in belief.
So I gave two answers - one based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, and one based in my own belief.

I'm sorry that you think I'm an asshole for stating that I don't think many people would go to Hell, but I felt like it was needed to answer the question completely.

I mean, according to Christian ideals, just for being born you go to Hell, so... considering I do not accept Jesus and my only god and savior nor have I been baptized, I'm going to Hell.

If that doesn't count, but it's still based off of other Christian ideals, I'm still going to Hell. It's rather difficult to be a good person under all those restrictions, hence why the whole forgiveness thing is kind of a big deal, but referring back to point 1, yeah...

If it's just based off of whether society would perceive me as a good person, I'd probably go to Heaven. Sure I've made mistakes, but they have all been relatively small. I try to lead an honorable life. I'm taking up a career that in based upon helping people. I try to be nice, at least to people who have done me no wrong, and I don't seek revenge on those who have.

It's a mind fuck for my more tolerant Christian friends. They see me as a good person, yet they know I'm going to Hell under their precepts because I don't believe. They don't really know what to think of my situation. XD

If we're not taking into account Heresy, Gluttony, The First, Second, Third, Forth, Fifth, and Tenth Commandment, then yeah, Heaven.
