I'm upgrading my PC. I have a old motherboard with an AM2 socket and I've been looking forward to upgrading to an Intel CPU. But then I started hearing about Ryzen and how future proof AM4 is, and that Ryzen is almost as fast as Intel but that AM4 will probably be around a hell of a lot longer than LGA 1151. All that said, if I'm upgrading my PC, should I go with Ryzen or Intel?

I would go for a Ryzen system. They are certainly where the price/performance lies at the moment but bear in mind that AMD processors tend to favour higher speed RAM, so factor that into the cost of your build.

Personally I am a Intel man, simply because AMD processors have the black pixel glitch in Mass Effect 1. Yes I use Intel solely because of one game.
