So what do you Escapees think of Special Features? You know, Commentaries, documentaries, making-ofs, etc.

Personally, when shopping. I go out of my way to get the most features possible. I watch everything too.

Anyway, tell me your views!

I rarely watch them. I find them pretty boring, so unless it's a movie I absolutely adored, I end up leaving them unwatched.

I don't really watch em, but I do recall watching lots of Jurassic park extras. But I don't usally watch films by myself so I don't watch extras.

That's usually why I buy the DVD. In fact even though I like hot fuzz much more than Shaun of the Dead, I bought Shaun because it has 2 seperate commentaries.

I like the cometary tracks on some of the stuff I watch. But I won't always go out of my way to listen to them. Only if I really love whatever it is.

I'd only watch special features if I love the film and want to know everything about it, or if I'm watching one and I think 'How the hell did they do that?'. I do listen to commentaries, because it sometimes gives insight into some things in the movie you didn't understand or notice.

That said, special features wouldn't have much of an effect on what movies I buy. I don't check to see what special features are on the disc, and if the special features are good, then that's a bonus.

I've only ever watched the special features on the LotR Extended Editions.

It was fantastic to see the scale of making a film like that, how many people it involved, and all the stuff, it was fascinating.

The rest of the time, I dont bother, unless it's deleted scened or an alternate ending but most of the time even those are rubbish.
