I'd like to maybe pay for a month to try it out, and THEN decide wether I'd like to buy 6 months or a lifetime.

6 months at first but once I had tested the waters, I would probably go for the lifetime.

I'm done with subscription fees for games. I payed $60+ already...to pay more every month is highway-fuckin'-robbery.

Lifetime fees would be great with MMO's imo. Was a bit confused. This is a hypothetical, right? There is no such things a lifetime fees in, say WoW or TOR?
No just in Champion's online
'aight. I wish it were available to other MMO's as well =/.

Hellgate: London did it as well, and I believe LotRO had a lifetime sub option. It's actually becoming more common. Hrm, AoC may have had one as well. I was there for launch but got lost in the epic fail that it was. Never tried WAR.

I'm very tempted to get the lifetime, but it's way too early to tell. It looks fantastic and their ideas have a lot of promise, but I'd prefer to try an open beta first before I commit to something like that.

Lifetime subs are a great idea, both for the developer and the customer. First of all, you don't HAVE to get it so you can't really cry about the downsides of the game expiring before you got your money's worth. Next, it's very beneficial to the developers since it allows them to get a slightly bigger cash income straight up. If the game survives so long that the lifetime users stop being a profit then you're likely already behind a successful game that'll survive anyway.

Basically, lifetimes are great as long as you're not forced to buy them and they don't provide any advantage beyond a long term investment.

I was wondering if the people who are probably going to get TOR if you would pay a lifetime or 6 month subscription fee and get a bit of extra content like Champions Online? For completeness sake let's assume that lifetime=$150 6 month=$55
If i had a job i'd pay for either. But not both at the same time.

Ye.

It's nice to know it's becoming popular. I just wish I woulda done it a long time ago with WoW =P. It's the monthly fee keeping me for over-exciting about Cataclysm.

I honestly doubt Blizz would ever do anything like that. They're too much into making money and having many individuals only pay $150/200 for at least 4 years instead of $720 for 4 years just isn't appealing to them. =P

Ye, who am I kidding. Those money loving, yet creative, sons of bitches would never do such a generous thing.

WOULD I pay for a lifetime membership? Yes.

But I probably won't, because I probably won't play this MMO.

I'm definiteley getting it, but I think the most I'd ever pay in advance is 6 months.
Same because after paying a month for WOW I got bored and stopped and may I say, Runes of Magic is better than WOW

I can't wait for SWTOR, I reaaaaaally want to play it. But I'll never pay longer than 2 months for an MMO (the usual time on a prepaid card), no matter how awesome the MMO is.

Well I seem that you spent a lot of time coming up with that arguement
Your sarcasm is truly biting.

I really don't care for the new visual style; the disproportionate body parts, the weird exaggerated animation, the textures on the character, it all just looks like Clone Wars.

I kind of find it funny when you compare the great, realistic art style of the video they released with the actual in-game footage. It's just bizarre.
