After being made aware of the popularity of tf2 on this site, both from the other thread and the user-group, I wondered to myself, "How can so many TF2 fans exist in one place without the entire site being brought down into a giant competition of who has the best hat?" With this in mind, I chose I must bring the beginning of the end to constructive posting and intelligent discussion with this, a thread about hats, from the worlds most popular hat simulation game, TF2.
For those of you who are unaware, or perhaps simply wish to refresh there memories, here is...
Now then, on to the topic. Many Escapists, Escapators, and Escapees have played TF2, and since a wondrous amount of people have logged over 200 hours, it stands to reason that at least some of you may have a hat, the greatest status symbol in the gaming world.
I myself have acquired several hats in my travels;
Shotgun and Grenades not included.
And the hat to cover all my hat needs;
Now, onto the dicussion!
For those of you who have hats: What hats do you have? Did you find or craft them?
For all TF2 players: What hats do you hope to get?
For everyone: What kind of hats do you own? (Outside games, or in other games if you really want)
Edit: Not counting the following hats: Bill's Hat, Ghastly Gibus, Rabbit Head, Cheaters Lament, and the Mildly Disturbing Halloween Mask.

Throughout history, men have worn hats as a way of showing how much better they are than other men. "I buy hats," a behatted man seems to say. "I am better than you."
In wartime, hats were a useful way of conferring rank, and ensuring that casualties were confined to the lower classes (hence the famous command of "Don't fire till you see the tops of their heads" at the Battle of Bunker Hill by William Prescott, a general renowned for only shooting enemy combatants who were poor). During peacetime, hats have been instrumental for men to let the non-hatted know just who is wearing the hat around here.
And that?s the entire history of hats. The history you were spoon fed at school, that is, in your government-run hat class. But here?s a little truth bomb your teachers, pastors and ombudsmen of your regional newspapers DON?T WANT YOU TO KNOW: Team Fortress now has MORE hats. We hope this didn?t blow your mind out of the top of your head, since you?ll need a place to put all these cool new hats.

Sorry for the dramatics, and the "poor and Irish" is an old joke from a TF2 update, I have nothing against the Irish.
