I've always wondered is saying "that's what she said" (in moderation and when it makes sense) actually funny or just annoying

Edit: And I'm sorry I accidently put this in the wrong section

Funny when inserted at 'that' moment, you know? Just at that 'you-had-to-be-there' epic line. But its overused ;-;

At a genuinely funny point, yeah, it is funny, but people are sick of hearing it. I like to make the same punch lines using different phrases so people don't think of me as "that asshole who always makes that's what she said jokes."

Actually, any of the conditional comebacks are lame. One of my friends does the "so is your FACE!" comeback a lot, and it doesn't make me laugh, it makes me want to punch him... HARD.

It really depends on the situation. Occasionally, there'll be a really good one, but it's annoying for the most part.

two men trying to get couch in front door while GF watches.
GF: Its to big, it will never fit in there.
Guy 1: Thats what she said
GF: *rolls eyes* grow up
Guy 2: nice *high fives other guy*

Get rid of the girl from this scenario and it no longer has the same value.

Most of the time it's incredibly annoying.

However, on the rare occasion where it really works it's hilarious.

Funny if it takes you by surprise... Which means that it doesn't work if used more often than once a week.

It's funny in some cases, if you use it properly. Unfortunately, most of the people that use it don't, and therefore make it extremely redundant and annoying.
