I have used this analogy before and I will use it again. If a carpenter makes a table and sells it to me, it is then my property, and I am free to do with it as I please. If I wish to sell this table to someone else, there is no reason he should be seeing any money from it. He has made his money from the sale already. If the carpenter demanded a cut of that money, any sane person would, in so many words, tell the carpenter to go eff themself.
This applies to used ANYTHING. Screw this anti-used games maneuvering by publishers. I generally buy my games brand new. I am still a big buyer of physical media. Books, CD's, Vinyl, Games, Blurays, Books... If I'm going to pay for that stuff, I want it new so I can say that copy is MINE, but should I choose to buy a used copy of anything, the choice should be mine and mine alone and I should not be treated like I am scum for doing so, which is exactly what Publishers are now doing, treating any used buyers like scum by removing the ability to access content that they SHOULD be able to use.
This whole thing stinks. I await a second crash with glee. And yes, I realise the inherent hypocrisy in me still giving my money to these corporations rather than "voting with my wallet." I don't see why my experience should be compromised just because the heads of these corporations have no sense of righteousness.
