I enjoyed the new trilogy. Just because they aren't as good as the Epic originals doesn't mean they shouldn't be respected as good films. I think they would have been better if not directed by George Lucas or if someone took his (kiddies) merchandise mentality out of his thought process.tooktook said:

They're all good films, but personally i prefer the old trilogy. The new one had too much green screening, and not enough on- location filming, which kind of made it seem like more of a technical exercise than a film, but story-wise the new ones are still good, and complete lucas's original 6 part vision of the saga.
Despite of what most people said, I kinda liked episode 1. Episode 2 was a two and a half hour promotion video for episode three, and with such a long promotional video, I would have expected a lot more from episode three itself.

If you cut out everything but the action sequences in the prequels, you have a great movie...unfortunately Anakin and Padme and yoda trash-talking ruined it for me a bit...I wouldn't totally disown them though.
The old trilogy has better interplay between characters and I sort of missed the Han Solo style oneliners. If the old trilogy hadn't existed though the prequels would have got more respect.

Loved the old three, and quite liked the new ones, though Anakin can't act for shit, and 3 was trying to be a romance way too much. I miss the old days where "blow shit up" could be half the plot

Edit: Just mentioning this, I seem to be the only Star Wars fan i know (in RL). It's weird because no one understands who Greedo is :'(

The only really good movie in the ndw trilogy was episode 1. That was mostly because of three things:
1) Darth Maul (he was awesome)
2) Jar Jar (yes i liked him and found him entertaining)
3) Annakin wasn't that much of a *****.
The reasons i didn't like the other two
1) Annakins rough puberty (God he was a whiny little *****)
2) No Darth Maul! (im so angry they killed him off!!)
3)They gave Boba Fett a stupid backstory. (am i the only one who thinks that the backstory made Boba less awesome)

I remember being just a kid when I watched Episode 1. I liked it at that time, because it was star-wars. Me and my freinds were big fans, so everything that had something to do with it was awesome, even though I hated the parts with the kid and Jar Jar. I matured a bit, and realized it was nothing like the old films. I clearly remembering talking to one of my freinds, who described the scene where Yoda starts playing with his lightsaber, and thought it sounded like utter rubbish. The thought of Yoda jumping around with a lightsaber was just so ridiculous, and when I saw it, I officially lost the last remains of faith I had in the series. I haven't even watched the 3 installment of the new series, out of principle, so I can't really speak about that one.
The originals were awesome. Properly amazing films. The new ones however, suck. Really bad. Bad acting, bad scripts, bad plotlines...

The only thing bad about the prequals was hayden christenson (sp?). Anyone else would have made them siqnificantly better.
I'm in the "Loved the old one's, the new one's where ok" band wagon, the thing that I did like about the prequels was the epic size and looks of the newer battles.
