I dont buy gifts on valentines day... instead i'll bake a cake or something that actually has some sort of meaning. I mean what better gift for Valentines day than, well, me.

I hate it. Utterly stupid. It makes single people depressed, and most couples stress out. For goodness sake, why don't all the couples make Valentines Day everyday? You should bloody well treat your partner right all the time, not just when Hallmark says you should.

Originally, VD were a day where you (forgotten the correct English word but bear with me) 'kept your eyes on and paid special attention to the one you liked', hoping to snatch her in a relationship or for a very passionate night of lovemaking that would ensure a child.

Same here yet I just turned 19 on the 8th.

OT: When I actually get a girlfriend I think I just go the japanese route which is the girl gives me my gift on that day and I'll get her something when White Day comes around.

Can I just request that you add an option? Because I would vote for: I am single, but I would love to spend V-day with someone special. I would LIKE to think that V-day is all about appreciating the one that you do love. It seems that people try too much to show their love through material goods.

Ex-ACTLY. I can't help but think it would be great if the world didn't seem to stack the deck against me. That's the biggest beef I have with Valentine's Day, it just seems to exist to snub poor Karlax.
