Legalise marijuana and ban smoking anything.
By all means, eat it in brownies or cakes or make tea or soup with it, but please just don't smoke anything at all ever.
See how it worked out for Portugal? I can't really argue with that. Alright, the sample size is only one ... nation ... but still, it's a hundred-percent success rate so far!
I think to really answer this issue we'd need to build (using rods of wall building from Angband) a group of islands somewhere like the Atlantic, just east of the rift and level with Andorra, and cover them in compost and grow lots of trees with the help of a few hundred druids ... and then build a modern utopia there with two houses of parliament, one of elected constituency representatives and one proportionally representative of the population, and really good public transport and sustainable power generation ... and outlaw fishing completely in a large part of this new nation's territorial water and fucking well SINK the Japs' fleet when they come and try to kill whales there ... and make sure we make some of the islands tall enough to be year-round ski resorts because we'd be raking it in then ... and have some of them as nature reserves with no permanent human population at all ... and then use some of the islands as test groups in a huge experiment over four generations, because doing it with rats wouldn't necessarily give data applicable to humans.
Considering that the LD50 (oral) for rats translates to about a kilogram of 10% THC cannabis buds for an adult human and the LD50 seems to go up with increasing size, I think we can stay well below the human LD50 for this.
Doses of 0, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 mg/kg,
administered every 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 96 or 192 hours,

Of course it should be legalised. Keeping it illegal benefits organised crime. I should be able to put into my body whatever I choose. I mean, I do anyway, but I shouldn't have to hide it, nor should I have to mix with criminals to purchase it.
I've been regularly smoking weed for more than seventeen years; it has certainly not impaired my memory or cognitive abilities. It hasn't prevented me holding down a well-paying job. It hasn't prevented me forming satisfying relationships with the people in my life. And I can't see it being particularly addictive, since over that seventeen years I've gone without for as much as six months at a time simply because I was too busy to have time to smoke up, or because I chose not to buy any for a while.

Long as it is taxed and regulated. If you are stoned in work you get fired, If you are stoned and driving you get fined. If you use weed you should pay extra for your medical coverage. And it must be sold like Alcohol is, from one government owned company, so it will be taxed and regulated (In Finland all alcohol over X% is sold in Alko. don't remember the % since I do ever go there.) . I understand that sentiment, and it does have its merits. Even so, you have to make the distinction between use and abuse; users and addicts. I know for a fact that use of marijuana doesn't need to affect anyone but the user, and I am saying this as both a partaker and an observer. Marijuana should be legal. Or at the very least decriminalised. There are lots of reasons why. On one hand its a personal freedoms thing. On another, it has medicinal purposes. It is in a lot of circumstances, if used properly not dangerous, and in public is less dangerous (in my opinion) than alcohol consumption. Lots of criminal revenue is from selling drugs, legalise and tax weed and then criminals are cut out. It would also be safer to have it legal as people could know the exact strength of what they're smoking, much like you know the alcohol content in drinks (this point i think is more relevant to the legalisation of MDMA argument). Plus it would never be sprayed or dusted. It would also allow health warnings to be placed on the product, like with cigarettes.
Besides all this, HEMP is the shit! Its natures super plant. Easy to grow, good for the land and a million different uses for hemp fibers.

Almost for all my life which is only a short 18 years. I've believed pot was all that was evil and wrong in this world. Then I started drinking, then smoking, then I finally gave into peer pressure and not to mention curiosity and tried weed. You know what happen? We drank sodas cracked jokes and watched t.v. Ate some crappy gas station food we bought, and damn eating high is like tasting food for the first time. Good old Mary Jane has been used by mankind almost form the beginning. For clothing, medical use and hell even fuel.
Pot is honestly so fucking harmless and useful its crazy to make it illegal! I hate drinking, I'll admit to glass of wine every now and then when we open up a good bottle thats it though. We all have our poison of choice in this world and love pot. The taste, smell, and the euphoric and calm feeling I get. I have job(Lawn work), my own boss but its still make good money and I get the job done neatly and quickly.
I don't have any debt or over due bills. I've never hurt anyone or done anything Illegal(Besides pot!) I'm 100% self functioning human being and I Know of at least dozens of people who are the same way. Fuck my neighbors just down the street smoke and I live in a really nice neighborhood if a say so myself. I think we need to stop wasting time, money, and prison space on "Stoners".
