For those of you who don't know, Wesley Crusher is a character in Star Trek: The Next Generation, played by Wil Wheaton. His role in the series has led to him being the character who "Saves the day" on several occasions, even as he is on a ship filled with Star Fleet members of much higher rank, and who are more experienced than him. This has led some fans to criticize the character, thinking him to be a sort of Mary Sue Stand in character for Gene Roddenberry (Creator of Star Trek, whose middle name is Wesley). So Escapist, what are your thoughts? Do you like Wesley Crusher as a character? Dislike, even hate him? Or do you just not care?

*Is that guy*
His stage name is actually Wil Wheaton, just one "L".

The episodes where he saves the day are just bad episodes. They seem like the writers wrote themselves into a real mess and instead of coming up with a way for the crew to save themselves, just phoned in some BS at the last minute.
