Meet the Pyro was an awesome video. I would love to see them make more TF2 videos.

I expected the whole 'the Pyro sees everything in some strange matter' thing, but I still love it.

Well now I must log onto Team Fortress 2 to play my fav class and give my friends (enemies) love, sunshine, lollipops and rainbows (fire, pain, axes and death).

Nothing they could have done would've lived up to the hype. It was a noble effort nonetheless.

It was dark, it was disturbing, it was horrifying, and I loved every minute of it! :D

It was also one of the first things that has made me literally laugh out loud in a while.

Didn't like it.

I honestly preferred the older Meet the Team videos. They feel more personal. My favourite is Meet the Engineer. Not taking that into account, though, I still didn't like it. I'm seriously never playing Pyro again, because the idea of someone so delusional that they think they're spreading joy and colour when they're actually spreading destruction and gruesome death REALLY scares me. If the Pyro were just a sociopath that just liked killing things, I could deal with it. But this frightens me. I think it was supposed to be funny, but I can't see it.

I would have liked it if they had focused more on the other classes' reactions to the Pyro in the interview thing like they did with the Scout, Heavy and Spy and then interspersed (less gruesome!) action shots of the Pyro. Like the way the did for Meet the Sniper where they had those interview-style sections ("Snipin's a good job, mate.") and the action sections (giant explosion).

The Pyro vision in the game itself is funny, though. The game itself isn't as dark as the real-world parts of Meet the Pyro and the "Pyro World" isn't as bright in-game. There's less of a contrast and I know that I am spreading death and destruction, rather than sunshine and friendship.

Psshhhht. Pyro done right has an extremely contextual and satisfying playstyle.

It was ok, but I think the joke ran on a little long. My favorite of these "Meet the " series is still "Meet the Medic".

Play on a better server/learn how to counter it. There really aren't so many if you don't play on shitty servers

OT: Hah, that's amazing. CBF to log in at the moment, but those goggles sound awesome.

It was fucking awesome. Just watching the cuts from joyfully frolicking through plains to happily hacking the Heavy's face off was pretty damn good.

I thought it was awesome. But I do have this nagging feeling that a lot of fanboys won't. The problem with avoiding making this video back when the game came out is now a lot of fans have made up their own preconceived notions of what the Pyro is all about, and somehow this is going to lead to a lot of contradictions. Fanboys will be fanboys, and given enough time, the less satisfaction that can come from it.

Just a hypothetical hunch though...=/

I really enjoyed it, personally. A pretty sinister blend of tongue in cheek mass murder and... A kind of Lynchian dreamworld or some such. Perhaps my favourite of the 'meet the's.

As a long time player of the Pyro I greatly enjoyed it. TF2's always had a bit of a dark sense of humour so it felt natural, I think if they'd gone full-blown psychotic or revealed the Pyro's identity it would've felt out of place.

Plus, with the new goggles they've released, gamer parents can let their kids play and not be worried about them being influenced by the violence!
