i was browsing through my collection of games and theres a niche in there that doesnt seem to be filled by any game there, and instead of actually being able to decide on a game, i figured i would leave it up to all of you to decide the fate of my new game.

Rent Oblivion, and if you enjoy it, buy that fucker. You'll be playing it for a month or two if you get into it like I did.The only game where I've bothered to get all the achievements, simply because the missions were reason enough to do so. As far as I know, Fallout 3 is good, but people I know who have it tend not to go back to it after a couple of weeks.

Oblivion, i have the rest and tbh im bored of every one of them already yet i still play oblivion from time to time just for the fact i can wander out into the land and find something new 9 times out of 10.

also nearly all the content available for it is of a high cailbre and will add hours to your gameplaying fun(avoid the horse armor pack though its pointless)

well, i've had fallout 3 already and then got bored of it since it just seemed like the same thing over and over. But when I watched my friend play a little more in the game it started looking better than I put it out to be.

Oblivion GOTY, definitely. (By the way, don't waste your money on the crapfest of a game, Fable 2)

I actually seemed to like Fable 2 until the repetitiveness kicked in of course.

Most of those games could be finished in the span of a rental, and I didn't really much care for Oblivion. I've heard Fallout 3 is essentially Oblivion 2, and has several of the same problems, chief amongst them being that one day the reality of the repetition you're enduring sinks in and you no longer want to play, however I can't personally vouch for or against it.

With videogames being so expensive nowadays, I rarely buy anything that I don't plan to get some online play out of. For sixty dollars, I expect a product that will keep me busy for at least 40 hours, but without multiplayer, many products don't go that far these days. It always feels like a ripoff to me when I finish a game inside of a week and I know that, while I might play it a little bit more, I could've replicated this whole experience with an eight dollar rental.

Better yet, if you're in a region of the world that supports such a service, check out something like Gamefly or what have you, that way you don't have to pick.
