Poll: what difficulty should I play Halo Reach on?

I've beaten every halo game on Legendary, but never on my first go. My usual approach is to start on normal so I can enjoy the story and the level design without overwhelming myself with a covenant onslaught (took me 4 tries to spell that right). But this time, I'm feeling adventurous. So, I leave it up to you escapist community, what difficulty should I play on my first time through. (polls close at midnight EDT because I do want to play this tonight )

Play it once through on Normal then when you've gotten used to the landscape go for the harder difficulty

I'd play it on Normal, then tackle 'Harder than Hard' if you feel like a challenge. That's my usual strategy with any game. Easy and Hard usually get skipped (unless like damned Uncharted, I have to complete Hard to unlock the next difficulty).

I say play it to enjoy it the first run through, then ramp up the difficulty and go for the achievement. That way you're not focusing on picking up little bits, you can skip cutscenes to get through it faster; either way: good luck.

Many reviewers are saying this is the most difficult Halo game so I would start on normal.

Normal. Get that out of the way so you can savor the effort and strain of Legendary. It really increases both the frustration and accomplishment in a way.

I played it on Heroic first time through and it was pretty challenging, There are some bits that are gonna be really frustrating on legendary.
Enjoy though. I thought it was ace. Lots of fun and more like combat evolved.

Heroic for the first solo run. I made the mistake of doing it on normal first and it was just a tad too easy.

For me I confess the first time playing, I went on easy.
It's tradition for me, the first time I just want to experience the story and the ambiance and I'm not really in it for the challenge. True this means I get absolutely no achievements but it also means I don't have to be screaming in frustration either. So essentially first time is the experience and every time after that is challenge and then experience.

I have a habit of playing both the CoD of Halo games on their hardest difficulty right out of the gate. I'm not sure why, really.
