Poll: What game should Valve do next?

I want to see them pick up a type of game that was made from one of their mods, maybe like an RPG type game like the war3 mods that are used.

Since Valve has done everything from a post apoc world, a zombie apocolypse, a psychotic testing facility, and two evil corporations vying for the same terrain, I think it's time for a different time zone.

Half-life: 2050?
Left 4 Dead: October 2009
Portal: same time as HL2.
Team Fortress 2: 1950s-1960s.

Maybe something in the past? 1800s, maybe?

Yes, we all want Episode three and Portal 2, but the question is asking what valve should make AFTER.

I do think that Valve needs to finish Ep. 3 before anything else. However, I feel as though they've been working on it, but have extreme game designer's block (if such a thing exists). Personally, I feel as though Valve should start something new. I'm not sure what though.

I love Team Fortress 2, it is just so fun and has balanced classes and weapons. Not to mention it doesn't have everyone running around with sub machine guns like in other fps's.

But I feel the game itself is degenerating, what was once a polished and understandable class based fps has now become very watered down and hard for newcomers to understand.

A reboot of the series would be what I would love to see more of, since L4D gets old quick and it feels like they have abandoned Half-Life.

One last note a new Team Fortress would run better with better multicore support, just sayin'.

What you don't understand is there is no singular Valve. There are teams within the studio. For example:

The best thing I did for portal was throw money at it and keep my fat hands off of it

Therefore while people are working on Portal 2, they're also working on other things.

Seriously though, there is a correct answer. It's been almost 3 years since the last episode came out. (Can anyone use the word episode unironically now?) Of course I don't want to see closure; I want to see more half life.

Considering how much Valve has already been delaying it, I think it is about time they start focusing on finishing Half Life 2: Episode 3. I mean, it is going to be six years since the release of the sequel, which matches the period between the original and Half-Life 2.

But, to be honest, I think fans would be happy just to hear any sort of news about Episode 3 at this point.

On second thought, Valve buying a good mod with innovative gameplay would be great too. Seeing that's what Valve does best.

maybe i didn't express myself clearly, what i was asking was what you think valve should do AFTER portal 2 and episode 3 comes out since they will probably come out at the same time.

Portal 2 is scheduled for release this year. There hasn't been a mention of episode 3 yet.
