I have no reasonable bed time, I just sleep whenever.

For someone of her age, though, 10 is the usual time, so she should feel lucky.

Well I'm 13 and I go to bed at about half-past 9 to half-past 10. (basically any time between 9:30 and 10:30 if you can't work it out :p)

It might be because when I go to bed early I don't really get to sleep quickly and I stay up till about half past 10 singing to myself...but I guess it might just be me being a dumb-arse (as usual.)

Depends. I normally have to wake up at 06.20, so I try to get to bed at ten.

But if I haven't got school in the morning I go to bed whenever I feel like it.

Well that's easy. Just tell her she needs to turn off the TV, comp, phone, etc by x time and either read or study. She will fall asleep once she's no longer distracted.

Well when I have college I go to bed at 21:00 so that I can get up at 6:30 the following morning without too much trouble. Although, if you don't get up that early 22:00 would be ok.

At that age it was between 8.30 and 9.30 for me. But then I liked sleep and loved (and still do) getting up very early.

Even now, I'll never work into the dead of night, even if I have a deadline. I'd rather go to sleep at 8.30pm and get up at 4am to work on it.

I don't really know what a reasonable time is I just fall asleep when I pass out from sleep deprivation.

I'm 16 and went to bed at 10:30 on school nights (wouldn't fall asleep until at least 11:30 anyway) - now I've finished I go to sleep and wake up on the same day.

...What?

OT:If someone falls asleep on the couch at 9, then they need an early bedtime. That age can be pretty sleep-heavy for both genders.
Yeah, I'm being kind of hypocritical there, considering when I went to bed, but still.

I would say it varies from person to person and what you do in your life.

Usually i would go to bed around 11 when i was younger and at school or college and that was pretty much the norm for me when working 9 to 5 as well unless there was any real reason necessary to stay up later.

But since losing my job last month now i pretty much just stay up till like 3 am everynight but thats fine cos i have nothing to do the next day and just get up later so i don't really think its the time you go to sleep that matters or should be thought of as reasonable or not rather the amount of sleep you get.

I'm just saying i can't sleep unless i'm really tired, and i don't start feeling tired until 1am at least.
If I went to bed at 10pm because i needed an early night I'd still just end up lying there wide awake until i felt tired at 2am.
(not quite sure what's causing the confusion xD )

I know i'm straying off-topic a bit there, I'd say a reasonable time to go to sleep would be 11pm for me. I just wish i could sleep at that time, would make college a ton easier.

I'm 15 and go when I'm tired. Generally not too late so that I am not nackered in the morning, but even if I went at 9, I wouldn't be up till about 11.

Really, it goes from person to person, I go when I'm tired and my parents understand that I'm bright enough to know the consequences of pulling all nighters, or going at 4am. (I mostly go at 12 tbh,it's when I get tired <3)

Sleep need is highly personal so there really is no specific time one should go to bed.
The "8 hours" is a myth. I usually sleep 6 or so hours, and I know many who sleep 3-4 hours.

I find sleeping hard and boring... When I was her age I was supposed to go to bed at 9pm or 10pm, but I didn't actually get to sleep until, say 11pm.

Ten or Eleven at the very latest. As a general rule of thumb, children (or even young teenagers) never know what's good for them. Kindly remind her that she is 14, not 17.
