TF2 is just so much fun for experienced and new alike. COD and such are great but just don't make me laugh like TF2.

Closely followed by left for dead.

Actually, why wasn't Dystopia up there? that was probably my favorite.

Personally, I'm a Halo fan.. I dunno why.. I just am.

It would be TF2, if it only had one more feature: split-screen multiplayer online. I have a blast playing Halo with my GF. It's so much better when you can play with a friend in the room and human opponents. If I'm by myself, though, TF2 is a bit more fun.

I've heard great things about L4D, but I suspect it wouldn't have the longevity of the likes of Halo and TF.

For console it is COD4 hands down, for PC it is definatley battlefield 2

What, no Quake poll option? For shame! You may be "too sick" to add more options, but Quake is not exactly insignificant, is it?

Call me a fanboy if you must, but Quake is fast, frantic and energetic. It just makes the deathmatches so much more exciting than other games.

same though COD3 had no problems online and it IS the best of the series online no stupid perks or random nade deaths though not many people know this becuase %80 of Cod4 players 1st cod was cod4

That's the sad part, really. An AWFUL LOT of people think CoD4 to be the first game in the series, which of course makes absolute sense. I mean what kind of crazy developer releases a game without a number at the end of the title? /sarcasm

Really, the same thing happened with GTA3. I heard a lot of people on forums saying that GTA was a wonderful new series. Read that back: a NEW series. Like 1 and 2 and the London one never existed.

I've heard great things about L4D, but I suspect it wouldn't have the longevity of the likes of Halo and TF.

I played it A LOT and will still run it again in 5 minutes Versus is just so antysymetricaly ballanced that you wont loose interest so soon.

This said I am kind of disappointed to see so few votes for "other". I guess Escapist is still mainly mainstream gamers. When i think about the games i had a lot of fun with then allways games come to mind that are not mainstream but satisfy MY NEEDS instead of sacrifising many good ideas for a wider audience.
Where are the players of "Day of Defeat", "Insurgency", "Unreal", "AvP", "Enemy Terretory", Quake and many others? Those can't possebly be only 22%...

Definitely CS. CoD holds a really close second and then I could never get into Halo or Team Fortress.

i say halo for the 360/PC but then i rememberd all the teabags i got when i'd lose a shotgun fight.

the DLC (eg legendary map pack) should be free but bungie likes the idia of my spending my cash to fund microsoft (who i personaly hate)

no question Battlefield: 2142 for the PC i would recommend it to anyone who like a more tactical approach rather then a rambo-esque expierence
