Poll: What TF2 class would you least hate to remove?

So I've seen several polls along the the lines of what TF2 class people are in real life, aspire to be in real life etc. But so far I've seen none like this:
So here's the deal. Robin Walker comes up to you and offers you $1000 to pick one class to remove permanently from the game. Don't want to take the $1000? Well too bad, one class has to go anyway! So basically it's just a choice of whether you want $1000 or not. Now choose a freaking class! Whatever your reasoning, I'd like to hear it.

TF2 players and Escapist regular posters will realise that, hey, where's the Heavy? Yes, the Escapist only allows 8 poll options, so I had to think about what people would least vote on and so minimise the amount of people going "WTF? Where's my choice?"
At first I thought Medic because it tends to affect games so much that no one would decide to get rid of it. But then it occurred to me that the massive effect it has on gameplay (Just try defending against a co-ordinated 6 pair heavy/medic rush, I dare you! Absolute steamroller if you can somehow co-ordinate it.) may be the exact reason people would choose it, as it would basically equalize the game for both teams without horribly destroying the core gameplay. So in the end I removed Heavy from the poll since it's so central to most games that it would just change the whole atmosphere. But hey, feel free to yell abuse at me if you do think it could be removed without screwing the game over somehow.

Personally, as much as it still wouldn't feel right taking anything away, I'd probably choose Medic as I mentioned above.

I'd like to see how many choose Spy. I mean, removing the Spy from TF2 is like removing the creepers from Minecraft!

If someone put a gun to my head and told me I had to pick a class to remove from the game permanently, I guess it would be either the Demoman or the Soldier. While they don't fill exactly the same role, there's enough overlap that removing one or the other wouldn't completely break the game the way removing any of the other classes would -- especially the medic, who is absolutely crucial to the game.

Edit: And I made myself lose the game thanks to this post. I'm sharing because I'm technically obligated to do so.

Either way, remove a class and the game breaks. Might as well remove the most integral class so I'm not tempted to go back and play a broken game.
So.. Demoman.

Getting rid of the Demoman would improve the game for me.

So yeah, Demoman.

Hmm, probably Engineer. Nothing says 'stalemate' like an Engineer tanking his sentry.

I vote the Scout. They're just too damn hard to hit for people who have lives and therefore don't spend millions of years practicing their technique.
Unless you play Heavy, or Pyro, or Engineer, or Soldier, or Medic for that matter...

As much as I love blowing shit from far away, I'd say the Demoman. Now, if I should be personally biased I'd pick one of the two classes that usually annoys the bejeezus out of me, namely the Sniper and the Spy. But I understand their role in the game and the fact that it's always nice to have one of them on your team (although I usually find the Sniper to be quite useless and game-breaking in the brawl dynamic of the game).

Yup, Demoman it is. Farewell, you classy ************, God knows I love you.

Haven't played TF2 in a long time, but I wouldn't mind to see the Spy go. I think it's a bit counter-productive(in a lack of better wording) to have a stealthy character in a fps competition game. Still - a lot of kids enjoy playing the sneaky type, so whatever.

Demoman seems hated.
I'll go with demoman.

Please don't hurt me.

I say Sniper. I don't like the fact that they can instantly kill every class (If you're a good enough shot) from practically any distance, most of the time they contribute very little other than picking off the occasional enemy. They also tend to get into pointless duels that never accomplish anything.

Spies can insta-kill too but I don't have a problem with them, in fact I love Spy, it requires a lot more risk-taking than the Sniper to get those kills, not to mention they double as a support class against sentries (and Medics if you can manage to steal healz).

EDIT: WAT WAT WAT?? Demoman? What's wrong with you people? >:[

Removing medics would make things the most interesting but would fuck up the entire game.

I'd probably vote demoman. I don't often see game clinching demoman plays.

If I had to get rid of a class, it'd be Sniper, if only because of how annoying I find it to be in an intense close-range fight with someone only to suddenly get killed by a headshot from halfway across the map.

Probably heavy.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Heavy. I used to play one all the time, but the class is so simple. There is literally nothing to it.. you spin up your gun and shoot at people and hope they fall over before you do.

The pyro and engineer are fairly simple too, but both have distinct roles. The heavy really doesn't seem to.

Spy is great.. win or lose, it is great fun to play a spy, except for the inevitable feeling of terror and panic whenever you see a pyro coming.

Yes he is quite fun, it's strange though because I get huge adrenaline rush when playing Spy. I'm talking a vein-throbbing, heart-pounding rush. Really it's only when I'm doing well, the longer I stay alive + more kills I get the worse (Better?) it gets. It's only when I eventually get killed that I calm down. It's odd that none of the other classes do that to me, come to think of it no other game ever gets me that "On-edge".

Personally I'd take out snipers. Recently I opened up the game, immediately got a ten kill streak, and then got sniped. Repeated the process but only with a nine kill streak, then sniped again. By the same person.

Competitively, pyros. It's easy to be a bad, annoying pyro and it's far too hard to be a good one.

Balance wise, demomen. Just far too overpowered compared to say, the soldier.

the Sniper due to the sniper wars (everybody goes as a sniper without going to the objective)

I would say spy because they sap my sentry too much but I find it fun to play as spy. I'll say sniper because of how overpowered he can be over every classes.

Even if he's considered balanced that freaking Huntsman makes him into an anti-class murder machine if your name isn't spy.

Sniper, for a large amount of reasons. One, they don't really fit with the "team" theme of Team Fortress 2, a lot of the time they just end up sitting in the back picking off people. Two, instantly dying to an opponent who's so far away you can't fight back isn't fun and no amount of skill or practice can save you from it, he points the gun at your head, you die, end of story. Three, the counter class to snipers is another sniper, which really ruins the "rock paper scissors" thing TF2 has going. Four, the sniper doesn't even really have to be a "marksman" anymore. The ridiculous hitbox of the huntsman combined with the quick speed means you can instantly kill people at extremely close ranges VERY easily. Hell, I've gotten the jump on a sniper as a pyro, the close range specialist, and had him whip around and instant kill me before I could axtinguish him. Or, if somehow that's too hard they can just camp a choke point and spam arrows at around head level and still get a decent amount of kills. The only real problem I see with removing the sniper is heavies, while they can be handled by decent spam/spies I wonder if that would be adequate to keep them under control alone.

If that doesn't work, Demos. Only real reason being they strike me as being far too powerful. High ammo count, the all around best practical killing potential, good range, good health, high mobility, EXTREMELY easy to use, can hit around cover, the list goes on and on.

Third choice would be pyros, partially because they're terrible and partially because Valve doesn't seem to know what the heck to do with them. The "light em up and run away" aspect doesn't work anymore because there's so many ways to put out fire/heal now. The "ambush" aspect was always stupid as ANY class can ambush and gain an advantage so basically requiring the Pyro to ambush to stand a chance is a fancy way of saying they suck(particularly when he has no abilities that make him good at ambushing like cloaking or rocket jumping. Plus, you know, all the fire... It's kind of an attention getter). The flamethrower damage is so terrible(the needlegun does almost as much damage and that's on the noncombat class) and the hitbox is such a pain that even if they do manage to get in melee range their AoE damage is pathetic, demo, heavy, and soldier are WAYYY better at it.

The backburner and airblast was what made Valve's confusion explicitly clear in my mind. If I wanted to attack someone's back from close range I would play a spy and get FAR more options that actually make that playstyle viable + I would be able to instant kill them instead of getting a few hits off and then having them turn around and hit me in the face with a rocket. And really, airblast? Don't get me wrong, it's powerful, but it's a stupid gimmick to try and make the Pyro useful, it doesn't fit with the classes theme at ALL. Pyro is to burn the shit out of people and cause chaos(hence why it's in the offense category), not bounce around ubers or be on sentry babysitting duty.

Probably soldier. I never play as soldier, and seems the same as demoman anyway. Mabye the scout, I don't know.
