in my case it would Fantasy Epic, instead of book.

nothing i have read recently has been stand-alone, and each Tome (the most apt description) has been over 650 pages long, and part of a series of at least 10 books
these being
The Three Worlds Sagas by Ian Irvine (3 series of books inside of a single theme, with a fourth likely on the way)
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind
The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

Well, the last proper "book" I read was The Hour I First Believed [http://www.amazon.com/Hour-I-First-Believed-Novel/dp/0060393491/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237595967&sr=1-1]. I don't usually read fiction that's not fantasy or scifi but it was really good.

Right now I'm reading the graphic novel series Y: The Last Man [http://www.amazon.com/Unmanned-Y-Last-Man-Vol/dp/1563899809/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c] - I just finished the 3rd volume, about to go on to the 4th. It's awesome.

I would keep reading Y, but I have to wait awhile for the 5th volume that I special ordered, so I'll probably read The Graveyard Book [http://www.amazon.com/Graveyard-Book-Neil-Gaiman/dp/0060530928/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237596291&sr=1-1] when I'm done with the 4th.

Currently reading "Spook Country" by William Gibson. Not his best work, but always good. I look forward to the next book, though, because hopefully it will tie back in to Pattern Recognition!

Halfway through the fifth Wheel of Time book.
Its an excellent read for anyone who enjoys books like Lotr.

(The first in the series is called Eye of the World and the author is Robert Jordan.)

Aren't the Y books great? I just finished the fourth myself. Still need to haul my ass down to the comic book shop and find the next few. (I buy them in wads, because it takes me precisely one hour to read each volume.)

Fire Study by Maria Snyder.

It's part of a trilogy which I never would have normally looked at, but the first book was installed on my ebook reader and they're actually really good!

'DragonSpell', by Katherine Kerr, the fourth book in the massive Deverry series. I've read it twice already, but since the new book is out, I wanted to go through the lot again to refresh my memory.

.. I just wish she was better with titles. *sigh*
