23, started gaming when I was 4 or so on a NES (Super Mario Bros being the only game I could handle at the time). Didn't really become a "Gamer" until I was 13 or 14 though and got totally hooked on Baldur's Gate 2. From there on out, I was doomed

I'm 19. I've rarely been mistaken for being younger or older than I really am. Then again, I've rarely been guessed my age. I started gaming when I was pretty young, not sure when, with the Mega-drive. Go go Robocop!

I'm 19. Without my beard, though, I look about 17.

20. I'll turn 21 later this year, but it won't mean much because I don't drink. :)
I don't drink either, but I can't wait until I'm 21, because that means I can buy pistols and also obtain a concealed carry license in my state. Although the U.S. could be a very different place in two years, depending on how the next round of elections work out.

I'm the same. I currently have a goatee and I think I look slightly younger than I actually am anyway. Without it, I reckon I could pass for 20.

I'm turning 23 tomorrow. I have been mistaken to be older, most likely because of my bitchin' beard (which now is longer and fuller than what I am sporting on the image in my profile here)
It must also be said that I have been mistaken for Our Lord and Savior many times, mostly at parties. But no, I cannot make your water into wine (I don't even drink alcohol), and I cannot walk on water either.
Oh, and I started gaming when I was around 8-10 I reckon. Doom is the first game I can remember. I vaguely remember plenty of other games, but my memory is shot to hell, so I don't remember enough to know which games they where. Today I am an avid PC, 360 and Nintendo gamer.

16, 17 in september. usually mistaken for being older. one of my friends in some MMO (don't remember which) got really surprised when I told him I was 16, since I was the mature one (and the "smart" one, knew much more about... everything than him.) and he was 10 years older than me.

Im turning 20 next month but I still get IDd in most bars. And when I'm at work old people ask if I'm in college. I'm university I'll have you know!
As for gaming. Earliest I can think of would probably be Microsoft Flight Simulator age 5-6.

EDIT: Wait! My first game was Ski-Free :)

Looking at the poll, I never thought that the percentage of those 20 and under would be so great. I always kinda figured that the majority of people here would be in the 21-24 range.

My thoughts exactly, but the community (from what I've seen) doesn't seem the worse for it. I wonder if this is most of us or if there are many more that aren't posting. Anyways, turned 22 a couple months ago. Been gaming...boy uh...since Windows 95 I guess. Whenever that was. Had like a Lion King mini-game arcade on it and some trivia point and click game. Pretty much back when games were about getting the high score as opposed to going on an adventure.

That one 40 or more year old must be feeling pretty lonely...

I'm 15, played Pokémon aged about 6-7 on my half-brother's PC. I don't think my maturity is obviously inferior to any of you, but of course I'm biased. And since everyone is commenting one how old they look, people think I look 17 (but who cares?).

I'am almost 20, I think the 17-20 bracket is a bit to wide, there is a huge difference between someone who has just turned 17 compared to someone who is 20 or almost 21.

If it were me I would have done it like this.
11 or under
12-14
15-17 Basicly people under 18.
--------------
18-20 Anyone who is legally an adult.
21-25
26-30
31-39
40-45
46+

I usually get mistaken for someone much older, In my gaming clan people usually assume I' am around 25 or 26, usually because of my maturity and world knowledge as well as how I treat people. Having an extremely deep voice helps to.
