When I see the credits roll.
[sub]At the end of the game, of course. Just to clear up the "LOL, view credits option!" loophole.[/sub]

When i have done everything it is possible to do in the game. Or i get bored of it, whichever comes first.

Once the ending credits roll.
I consider the "every side quest" thing to be what it is, a side quest.
I've beaten the game when the main story is complete.

While I'm tempted by the turnips, I'd have to say the game is won when the credits stop rolling (meaning they aren't trying to trick me with another boss fight).

Just because I've won a game doesn't mean there isn't more left to do, after all.

When I complete the story mode. I guess that means credits but some games don't have them after the end of the story quests. I still play on after I beat the game though if there is more to do.

When I'm satisfied.

I could be satisfied before the game ends, or hell when I'm on my 9001 play through.

These responses are interesting.

Personally, I have the completionist attitude, so I will not say I've finished it 'till I've sucked out every drop of enjoyment to be had.

Depends on the game but usually if I'm bored then I'm done. Assassin's Creed 2 was very much a game I was loving until I turned it off one day and just haven't gone back. Doesn't feel like I will either.

What he said, I can always go back and play again to do other stuff. But when the credits roll, like a movie, you know it's over.

It really depends on the game. Some games, when the credits start rolling.
Then there's the games that end when the credits are rolling after beating the game at the highest difficulty (usually this is with games where you have to unlock that difficulty).

If I really like a game though, it's not over until I say it is.

Whenever this post ends in triplets...

Oh wait, wrong game.

Whenever I've grown bored of it. Which is usually after the end credits. If not, I return it.

when the ending credits roll.

if I liek the game I'll go for 100% or a higher difficulty or alternate endings but that's considering my preference for the game over the next game I could be playing instead so I claim that once the ending boss is defeated and no more loose ends are going to be tied, then the game is beat.

When the credits start scrolling on the screen. Then i go back to beat any sidequests i ignored and/or hidden items i missed.
