Usually male playing as a female. I don't know why, but starting with Fable III, I just started making female characters more than male characters. The only exception so far has been Saints Row the Third (I think I've only played as male in that) and Saints Row IV (because I made a story for my SRIII character), but I now have my primary character that's female for SRIV.
I don't often play a male character unless I'm doing a replay, but even then, I might choose female. I've never done a male in Skyrim (5 characters, 4 times completed the main quest), Dragon Age: Origins (3 characters, completed main quest once, currently doing it again), Dragon Age II (4 characters, completed main quest three times) and Mass Effect 3 (one character, completed main quest once). Hmm. Lots of Bioware popping up there.
