I see I'm in the minority here but I'd rather ride a dragon, especially if it's a dragon like those from Eragon, they pretty much take care of themselves and they're the best friends you can have, I'd love to bro-fist a dragon

I'd probably go for transform, particularly if I can reach the kind of speeds that dragons do in say the riftwar cycle, going halfway across the world in about an hour. Admittedly only if I can transform back and forth at will.

Transform, then you don't have to feed and clean up after your massive dragon.
It can eat anything it wants and shit everywhere. Who's going to tell you anything? You own a freaking dragon that can level their house with a swing of it's claw :D
That maybe be but eventually you're going to end up knee deep in dragon shit :D

I would much rather ride one than be one. Riding a dragon seems more dignified than transforming. Plus, I could paint its scales to look like a hot rod, with flames going down the sides, and my name written on its wings so all the ground people know how awesome I am. My dragon would be a chick magnet, definitely.

I have stumbled onto far too much furry pornography over the years while looking for images for D&D related projects. As they say about women and tentacles because of Hentai..

I know how this ends. *Haunted look*
Those poor cars. Tailpipes aren't supposed to work that way...

And now you've made me remember the guys who modify their cars so that they can have sex with them. Thanks for that. * Even more haunted look*

I can still wear my shoes, right? Nobody is planning to have sex with my runners at some point? :p

We went from Dragons to Sex. How is that possible?

Riding a dragon, because then, you are less likely to be shot.

It depends on the dragon lore. I can't say I'm terribly interested in being a dragon, but then there are dragons that can shapeshift in certain lores, and I'd be stupid to not be one of those.

Riding I could take or leave. Probably leave actually. Flying around in the open air, thousands of feet up, with nothing more reassuring than what amounts to an animal underneath me doesn't sound enjoyable. It sounds like hell.

Can I transform back and forth at will? If so, Dragon. Especially if we are talking a 3rd edition elder gold dragon with a bunch of sorc levels. A good CR30 beast would be perfect :D

D&D is the only game or world I can think of where the possibility of both riding a dragon or transforming into one exists.
In the Rifts RPG you can be a dragon wearing power armor riding a dragon flying a space ship.
No, no that's not right. In Rifts: Soviet Russia it's a mech-sized artillery cyborg that you want be.

On the other hand, if you want to be dragon AND a cyborg, you need to be in Rifts: Japan.

These are the questions that plague me... I dunno. Both options are so damn awesome. Ultimately, I'd probably go with rider, but it's like... a 51/49 split.

So long as I keep my conscious self and not a blood thirsty killing machine (see Incredible Hulk or Mr.Hyde as examples), I'd like to become a dragon.

Definitely would rather transform into a dragon,

Free transportation, durable body, flame breath, and a GREAT intimidation method for people who cross your path that wrong you, like muggers.

It's perfect.

I wonder what dragons want to transform into.

Anyway I would transform because I could do pretty much anything I want as a dragon. I do imagine my human form would have some terrible indigestion if I ate a herd of cows as a dragon though.

What are the disadvantages of transforming into a dragon? Can't you do it at will? Do you loose your consciousness? Can't you change back?

If there are no disadvantages, then transform is the only good option. Other than having some wardrobe complications, being able to change into a huge beast with the ability to fly and breath fire is better than having a cool pet.

I have edited the OP to hopefully answer the questions some have had, like can I transform at will, will the dragon try to chomp me, etc.

Well if this thread was any indication, if dragons existed, and our two species co-existed peacefully, there would be a number of half-dragons running around. While mating with a dragon might seem awesome, and it probably would be, think how much a human kid entails. Now imagine the responsibilities of raising a half-dragon. Though on the plus side there is a dragon to help raise it. All fun and games until there is an un-planned for half-dragon in the mix.

even though I voted transform myself, either one seems like an awesome choice. The power of dragons! On one hand, transform means you control it yourself, and nothing to clean up after or feed. but on the other, forming a partnership with a dragon is awesome, and that's two rather than one.

Transformation all the way, man. I can fly anywhere, I can hunt for my own food (hunt in dragon mode, eat in human mode for MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY), and best of all, I don't have to worry about where in the world I'm going to stable a GODDAMN DRAGON. Seriously, where in the world could you possibly PUT this fucking thing, man? It's a giant firebreathing iguana with wings! You can't just hide that stuff in your backyard.
Funniest thing I have seen in a while.

If I can transform between human and dragon form on command, that one. If not; dragon rider. That seems the most logical to me, I mean... transforming forever would be rather annoying with dragon slayers and what not running around.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis let you become a dragon, which is something I have never seen in any other game. to think of it, have any games had dragons in any way involved on the protaganist's side? The Eragon books were about a dragonrider. Can anyone think of any other games, books, movies stories etc. where the hero either rides a dragon or has the ability to become one?
there a nick name i have for Divinity 2

'Breath of Fire 6'

if its games about turning into a dragon you seek, look Breath of Fire up

OT:
Transformation, GOTS ta be the trans, and if the D&D dragons are the option, a Red Dragon, those are awesome
