Its pretty idiotic I did it a few times but honestly if you go to a concert to mosh you seriously need to do something else like enjoy the music. It isnt dancing you arent listening to music you are just shoving people around and getting shoved around. This will end up in various cuts and bruises and I do not see the enjoyment in doing so.

What the guy in his thirties said. Although, being a musician that likes to enjoy other live acts(i've seen jerks that only watch other bands to compare and critique) I've never been one for moshing, just watching the bands and enjoy the music. I like being the one who causes others to mosh.

Yeah, most brutal pit I've ever been in, good times.
I'll Mosh at gigs where it's appropriate, Slayer, Machine Head and the like. Sometimes it's not feasible, like when I saw Matallica, I was right at the front, and it was too much of a crush for a pit to form.

As much as I can the adrenaline is just fantastic! However I don't do any of that god awful silly leg and arm flailing, I just wish those people would stop existing and going away, they have absoloutly no consideration for peoples safety in a mosh pit, and I know that must sound strange. "Safety, in a mosh pit?" you might ask but when you get knocked down in a proper circle pit you'll be back up on your feet in no time thanks to the help of the other people in th epit, however when you get a person flailing their legs you quite often find yourself being kicked in the side of the head and punch in the knees, it's not fun and just looks stupid.

Yeah there were those crazy "hardcore" kids there last night, they all looked alike and looked really stupid while hardcore dancing.

I usually go to see a band for the music, so no I don't mosh.
The few times I've ended up in a pit (I didn't even know where it was until it was too late), I ended up on my ass. I don't see the appeal myself...

I find it best to just go straight up to them and slam them onto the ground, or really anything that will stop them from spazzing out.

That's one of the best things about being in the very front row of a big crowd: the press is too constant and too strong for the pit to come near. It's still a battle to keep your spot, but that's part of the experience. The worst spot is 4 or 5 people back from the front, where you get torn between the press and the pit...

I don't listen to metal anymore and you don't get that at hip hop concerts. I did back in the day but no longer.

I'm reminded of the most incompetant pit I've ever seen, when I saw Alestorm, during one of the support acts, the pit, which I wasn't in, managed to get me to the barrier without me making any effort at all. I found this highly amusing, as I was now in the perfect place for the main event.

It depends on the musical genre, but Metal, Punk, and Ska are all oppropriate times to Mosh, Circle, and Skank. I respectfully disagree with whoever said it shouldn't be done at local shows because its one of the best indicators for a band to see if they're doing well.

If nobodys dancing, somethings gotta change.

For me it's part of the experience. Keeps the adrenaline flowing. If I'm not moshing, I'm moving in some way. Usually dancing.

Seeing Pendulum and Hadouken! in December. I will not stop moving.

It depends on the band really, and how I'm feeling. Sometimes I try get to the front or just stand about and enjoy the gig, other times I like to get into the pit and have a mosh and get a bit rowdy.
