Poll: Who's Your Doctor?

So with the return of Doctor Who to our screens I thought I'd ask a question which has been bugging me for some time.

The major question within the Doctor Who fandom is of course 'who is the best Doctor' but I want to ask something different.

Who do you consider to be 'Your' Doctor? Even if you don't think that they have the best episodes, or were the best actor or whatever, who is the Doctor that you feel the most affinity to?

I'm going to guess that a lot of people will say Tenant, but I really think that Christopher Eccleston was 'my' Doctor. I didn't even really know about Who until the revival, and he was the first revived Doctor. Also, having watched the boxsets for most of Easter, I have to say that I actually prefer the way he was portrayed.

Since I couldn't fit 11 Doctors onto the poll, I chose the one's I've been told are the most popular, but if you like one of the lesser known ones, put it in your response.

David Tennant, since he's the one I've seen the most episodes of. He did have more than Chris Ecclestone didn't he? Anyway, I've liked all three since the revival, but I think David Tennant's the best actor.

I'd go with Eccleston also. when I was younger my aunt showed me some doctor who videos and overall I saw it as pretty meh, once the revival came round I watched it along with my family and I liked the darker tone they gave the series compared to the ones I had watched, which were mainly the slyvester mccoy era. though, there's not many episodes of his series I actually really like though.

Jon Pertwee was the first Doctor I ever saw (saw reruns of Doctor Who on PBS as a kid), and to me he was the definitive Doctor.

Just how did I guess that David McDonald was going to be leading when I voted.

OT: Tom Baker, for genuinely being the funniest. Jelly Baby... Jelly Baby...

David Tennant is the Doctor. Plain and simple. When I think of the Doctor, I think of him. I'm not saying he's the best Doctor, I'm saying he IS the Doctor. Matt Smith is hilarious, and I love him as the Doctor, but Tennant IS the Doctor.

Peter Davidson.

**hearts**

I had such a crush on him when I was a little girl. ^^

Tom Baker was the better Doctor, but Peter Davidson was just so dreamy.... ^^

Tenant is my favouriate though I only have seen 4 doctors, but still nothing really beats being able to jump out a space ship and fall through the ceilling of a house and then stand up again as if it was nothing

Growing up my favorite was Tom Baker, today it's Sylvester McCoy.

Christopher Eccleston was an excellent Doctor, it's a shame he didn't want to stay on for a few more seasons. David Tenant was good but too much like Peter Davidson for my tastes, I'm not a fan of Davidson as the Doctor (but he was excellent as Campion).

I haven't seen Matt Smith yet, I don't get BBC America and NetFlix hasn't put his first season up yet :(

Growing up, it was Tom Baker, but after having heard a lot of Big Finish audio dramas, I think Colin Baker is my favourite.

After all, He is The Very Model Of A Gallifreyan Buccaneer. You'll get the joke if you've listened to the Big Finish drama "Doctor Who And The Pirates".

He's also the best at giving someone a well-deserved earful.

Second place goes to David Tennant.

I voted for the "respectabiggle Marsh-wiggle"
I loved his speech about living like a Narnian, even if it didn't exist.

Hard to choose, really. All of the original doctors were good in their own ways, though 5 and 6 got let down somewhat by the writers. 8+ really, really got let down by the writers, but the actual actors weren't bad.
