No time, I'm in my last university year. And I'm usually uberpicky not that I'm overly handsome or anything but I don't betray my aesthetic beliefs.

Fuck relationships. I'm sick of the games, and the bullshit.

A relationship doesn't really suit the lifestyle. Could be moved anywhere on short notice, have to go away for long periods of time, not really prime relationship stuff, sure there are people who do it and pull it off successfully, but it's not for me at the moment.

I recently broke up with a girl, decided I just wasn't feeling it any more. Am happy being single for the time being.

I've never been asked.

And if did get in a relationship, my father would definitely stop it.
How so?

It sucks liking people, but they never like you back. It hardly builds your confidence when the only girls who like you are the beautiful ones, but only tell you when they're in another relationship, or reaaaaaaaally fat girls that don't look attractive. Call me shallow? Yeah, so is everyone else on this damn planet. What can you do?
Haha, that IS shallow. But kudos for being honest! So...if you're a nice guy, you obviously haven't met the right gal. I know that sounds extremely cliche, but the woman for you is out there. Maybe advertise yourself a bit more.
What do YOU think is the problem? If you're good looking, genuine, nice, looking for a proper relationship...then you're either approaching the wrong girls, or something else is the matter.
I have one of two theories:

My lack of experience with girlfriends (and by lack, I mean none) causes me to use methods of expressing how you feel that aren't deemed...normal?

My second theory is that because I have no confidence around girls I like (hell, I'm a really confident guy, I can get along with anyone, but if it is a girl I like...I flare up and turn the other way) has hindered me in my efforts to find a significant other, because I end up getting so frustrated by said girl not knowing, I tell her in pathetic ways (facebook, MSN, etc). I'm not afraid to admit it, because I have to change.

I either get into the "friend zone" or make girls avoid me because I've got no idea how to talk to them, and I come off as a creep.

Primarily because of my weight. I have gained a lot of weight this last year, and though I'm not actually "fat", I am overweight.

I did have opportunities, though. An ex of mine was staying here various nights about half a year ago, and though things "happened", I did my best to keep it at a strctly non-relationship level. I am going through a depression, and even though I'm not nearly as much in the dumps as I have been, I would make a terrible boyfriend, and she doesn't deserve that again. And then there was the oter ex, the one I still love... She came by as well, and we had a good weekend. But I never were able to follow up on it, for the same reason as above. I regret that, though.

3 is fairly fixable, work out, dress well, get a nice haircut, a job and go out and do stuff.I have been going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. And swim one kilometer every Sunday,so I'm working on the me being fat thing.
I can't get a job until this summer since I'm still in Elementary School10th grade.Going to high school this autumn..
I just got all my hair shaved off.I have a buzz cut as of now.But will most likely have a full head of hair in 1 or 2 months.
I dress fairly well.I almost always wear a shirt and jeans with some sort of t-shirt.
Going out and do stuff is kinda hard when you live in a fishing village that has now entertainment center and only around 300 inhabitants. And seeing as how only one guy here is a good friend of mine, its hard to do stuff while he lives on one of the farms in the fjord.Sure it's only 3 kilometer's away. But he's too lazy to walk into town, and I have no business on the farm,so I see no reason for me going to visit him.Sure the nearest town is only some 20 kilometers away, and taking the bus only takes 20 minutes. But that town just ins't any better.

I'm sure you've seen ugly guys with hot girls, so it works some how.Well it's one of the mysteries of life.1 needs more time, if you complete 3, more or less 1 will come into place. Either that or see a therapist and figure out what is causing it and how to fix it.Well I did feel very good about myself last night when I felt that I was getting some stomach muscles. And I also noticed that my arms were forming stronger muscles.2, well you just need to get out more
This was explained in my first paragraph.

I don't know enough girls, simply.

And I'm an unfunny unattractive unlikeable bellend.

The other problem is my life is a vicious circle: I get pitied, so I feel depressed, so I get pitied, so etc.

A combination of not being great looking, neurotic, low self-esteem, and liking my own company too much.

I suppose it would be by choice, since I'm waiting for a girl to get back from Florida in August. No guarantee we'll date when she's back, but hell, I told her I'd wait.

Heh, I kept seeing this thread whenever I came to the Escapist, but I didn't know what I should say should I post. All I can say now is "not single anymore."

Well, I find myself physically unappealing
I have an interest in video games and anime which I doubt a lot of girls would care
I prefer isolation
I'm not outgoing
And I try too hard

I only got dumped on Valentine's day, but I had it coming for losing my respect for her. Now I'm meeting new interesting girls every day, I don't feel the need to work on that.. if one of them really is special, I'll get her eventually. I'm currently working on myself now, and to feel happy and complete as a single (as I do now) is an important experience for me. I don't want to rush into a new relationship just to not be alone.

why are you not fulfilling your biological imperative of procreating and churning out babies?
In response to this statement, because I think that our biological imperative in current society is not to. The "developed" countries are becoming more and more over crowded and we are burning through the Earth's resources at an ever increasing rate. The last thing we need is a higher population.

The other reasons that I am not in a relationship is because I am eccentric and very picky.
