Personally I really fail to understand the whole concept behind a prima guide for any game, but I thought it was particularly weird when I cruising D2D and came across "The Sims 3 with Prima Guide bundle" and immediately my brain exploded... WHY??!?! What could you possibly need a Prima Guide for the Sims?!! There is no win or lose, or anything to be gained from playing the game except wasting time! So why on earth would you need a Prima Guide?

So this all brought me to the realization I have never used a Prima Guide for anything... at all. It came with a lot of games, but I never ended up using them.... Are they really useful?

Any guide you have to buy is, generally, a rip off. The only game I ever found a guide slightly useful for was old school Spyro The Dragon on the PS1, and Star Ocean 3 and 4, because those are the games of that series that I've played. I needed that guide more for SO3 than SO4, though...

I use them occassionally. Get a guide for a most RPGs since I can't use a computer and play my 360 so it's a lot more helpful.

I occasionally use them, mainly on RPG's. The internet usually has the same informaion but it is easier to read and reference certain things in book form.

My brother used to get them when having trouble with games as a kid, but now, he either figures them out himself, or go to Gamefaqs, which has tons of walkthroughs for free. I find them to be better than the online ones, but I don't plan on spending money on them any time soon.

The whole concept seems just a tad silly to me.. not only can we go online but it seems to take some of the fun out of the game...
