The story is, in my opinion, one of the best storylines in any game, I could spend hours reading the Halo Wiki out of pure fascination with the characters and setting. Also, the mmultiplayer is one of the most balanced I have seen.

Seriously there are many reasons why people love the series be it the story or the online experience halo is xboxes world of warcraft in my opinion.

I play it for the:
1 the awesome storyline (halo-halo 3 were awesome as far as I know)
2 cool weapons
3 and wtf/funny moments.
4 online experience, it's addicting as hell.

Feh I don't even want to go near online multiplayer.
Secondly I play mostly for the Local Multiplayer with my friends. I'd try and focus more on the campaign, but I'm having too much fun dicking around to care XD

It's pretty. It's got good music. It's fun to play with friends on split-screen. It's where I get my space shooter on because the market is pretty thin on quality.
