I said unsure and here's why:

While the official pricing has not been released by MS many retailers are already listing it at $150 which is waaaaay to much IMO. If it's $80 or less and has good first and third party support then I'll jump on board.

I wouldn't buy it as a game controller so if that price point is correct, I wouldn't pay 150 for a controller. Then again, if they're going to make more interesting non-games than nintendo, It might be cool.
Think of something like a martial arts trainer that can tell you exactly where you need to improve. Even just a sparring program would be cool.

Motion Controls will destroy gaming.
Nobody wants to come home after a long day of work or school.
And flail there arms and legs around like a moron for 2 hours.

EDIT; And that kind of peripheral should only cost about 40 - 60 dollars.

Im not really sure, it seems like an awsome idea, but Im not sure what I would use it for...
I wish Natal the best of luck when it releases.

Nope.
After watching the Sonic Free Riders demo, I am officially sold on the idea that controller less gaming is good only for those that get to watch other idiots play them. I wouldn't be caught dead playing a game with just a camera, even the motion controls of the Wii are sometimes embarrassing.

THIS [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1kFJdxjm2c] video is proof. Around 2:00 is the part that will make you laugh. If you think you want to buy Kinect, don't watch this video because it will change your mind.
FYI, it is a Sonic Free Riders E3 hands-on video showing someone playing it on Kinect.

Still need to cough up $300 for a console proper. I'm not forking over an additional $150 so they can compete with the Wii.

No!
I wrote my feelings here: http://weaversgameblog.blogspot.com/2010/06/microsoft-how-big-do-you-think-our.html but I'll just copy and paste it onto this here site.

So, besides looking like a complete tool while playing Kinect I need a giant, empty room in my house that can fit 4 people comfortably while I flail around?

You know, my living room right now is actually pretty big. If I re-arranged the room (I mean like, shit has to move everywhere for this to work) I could probably actually manage to play the natal. However, most people I assume actually have furniture in their living rooms. This is really the crux of the problem.

Microsoft, I do not want to move tables and couches all over the place just so I have enough room to play a video game. This is ludicrous! I now suddenly see why the Wii and Sony's move is a much better layout. Yes, it may not be ultra cool revolutionary, but I'd assume most people can still maintain their current housing layout to play them. Mine is couch -> coffee table -> TV on TV stand. This brings me to another fear I have with the Kinect.

My TV is not setup to be at eye level for people who are standing up. Being an LCD TV, and honestly being really, really damn cheap it has pretty good horizontal viewing angles for what I payed. The vertical angles aren't very good though. Hence why the TV is oh so PERFECTLY setup at a sitting eye viewing level. It could not be more perfect. So when standing up I'm going to have to deal with colour washing as I'm now towering over my TV. None of this seems appealing to me.

I am unsure, I really doubt it though, I don't really care for gimmicks and motion controls. I just want good games that I play with a normal controller.

No, for multiple reasons.

First, if the Wii is anything to judge by, it will fade away and become a laughingstock of a gimmick, with no redeeming gameplay values. Second, I don't feel like spending the money, nor do I have the time to play the games it will be used with. Finally, when I play video games, I play them to relax, not to work out.

All in all, it just doesn't seem like a good investment to and for me.

Nope, not at all. I don't have any interest in this new wave of motion controls and things like that. It just seems so pointless to me.

No I don't think so. At present the games for the Kinect device aren't really interesting nor pushing the boat out of the technology, as it were.

i would not call the wii a laughingstock, but i would call a great majority of the games made for it garbage.

Lets be clear the wii was purpose built for motion controls period. A vast majority of the games made for wii have dodgy motion controls or worse. Now microsoft and sony are going to tack on motion controls? And well while i did not follow e3 closely or the fates of either gimmic, all the early reviews i read of them had all the indication, that for all the claims to the contrary, that the controls lagged, that they did not feel responsive, that inputs did not always track properly, etc etc.

And while the wii did sell a billion units or whatever, the fact there are so few good games out for it at all, wiis spend a great deal of time taking up shelf space, and not much else. When you ask gamers the xbox and the ps3 get far more play time than their wiis if they have all systems.

Wii partially sold well because it was cheap and appealed to families as a family activity thing. Cause families do not mind looking goofy together, outside of their angst ridden teens. Now the angst ridden teens probably have mostly control over the xbox or the ps3 it is in their room or they bought it themselves, cause they want to game and mom and dad want to watch american idol.

Bottom line i do not think the marketing wizzes at ms or sony did do the proper research. Maybe i am wrong but i cannot see any of these motion add ons being overly popular for the cost and logistics involved.

No. Too expensive, and most games work better w/ traditional controllers.

I can see a limited use for motion control. It'd be cool as an interface the way it was used in say, Minority Report. Heavy Rain's ARI system might benefit from it. Actually, Heavy Rain as a whole is a fairly good candidate, though as a game it remains fairly unique.

I'd much rather see motion control built into the next generation of consoles, and games developed that use it as appropriate, not as some central gameplay aspect\. It's like the rumble feature or Sixaxis for the PS3; if if went missing, you might wish you had it from time to time. But you're certainly glad every single moment of gameplay doesn't depend on it. That'd just be irritating. And if you were expected to pay $150 for it? Good motherfu**ing luck.
