I am finding it very hard to decide whether to aid the Scoia'tael, The Order of the Flaming Rose, or remain neutral. To provide extra insight, I would love to know the choice you made and why. My thoughts are included below.

- The Scoia'tael

Overview: A guerrilla group of non-humans (mostly elves & dwarves) with a strong hatred of humans due to the longtime oppression received from them in the Northern Kingdoms. The Scoia'tael located nearby Vizima are plotting to raze the entire city. Generally all Scoia'tael kill both innocent and racist humans without mercy.

My thoughts: I believe the Scoia'tael are fighting for a just cause - the freedom from oppression of their races. Their voices will not be heard, so they need make a bigger statement through revolting. However, their cruel treatment and murder of innocent humans I do not stand for. Is it too difficult to tell the racists from the non-racists? I think it probably would be. Not all humans would openly express their hatred of the nonhumans if they were in danger by doing so. Although, if their goal is to fight for equality, then it's difficult to achieve that when you behave like merciless animals.

- Order of the Flaming Rose

Overview: The Order of the Flaming Rose is a society of knights which protects Vizima and the surrounding area from monsters and the threat posed by the Scoia'tael. They also actively promote the Cult of the Eternal Fire. The Order itself is racist towards non-humans.

My thoughts: I initially thought it would be good to team up with the Order just to stop the Scoia'tael from killing innocent humans. However, now I think that only contributes to the Order's survival and thus the continued unjust treatment of nonhumans.

- My Final Verdict

I think I have decided to stay out of the conflict as much as I can by remaining neutral. I cannot tolerate the oppression of nonhumans and will fight for their cause, but not mercilessly. I cannot stand with the Scoia'tael for that reason. Racism is the reason why the ethnic war exists and since the Order itself is racist then I cannot back them up, even if it means the protection of innocent lives.

Aren't Witchers supposed to stay as neutral as possible, no matter the circumstances? Pretty sure Geralt says that a lot.

I helped the Scoia'tael for the beginning of the game, when most of their actions seemed almost 'justified' I guess, but during one specific scene, I just couldn't go along with them anymore, and chose to switch to neutral.

I was about to put that the Witchers path is pretty much the neutral one, but somebody beat me to it.

Meh. Can't you just save it at that point and re-do all three paths.

Technically the game lets you wreck havoc and do shit as you please till the end of the 4th act, THEN you can choose between scoi'tael, flaming rose and neutral.
