There will always be a group of people that will try to get their way through violence. The only way it will ever happen is through M.A.D. It's the only thing that kept the Cold War from getting hot.

The way the world and human associations are organized would need to be so dramatically changed to make world peace possible that I'm forced to conclude that no, it really isn't, at least not without some sort of major disaster such as a nuclear holocaust or alien invasion.

Well okay things still killed each other but back in the age of the dinosaurs when T-rex killed a parasaurolophis (...probably mispelled) for example, sure he's still eating the other dinosaur but no one hates him for it, they accept that that's just what he does. They let it go. They didn't retaliate and mess everything up and end up causing more damage to the environment then the T-rex would have done on his own.
