Damn does everyone on the Escapist hate multiplayer except for TF2?

OT: The only games I've bought without any consideration at single player at all are L4D and L4D2.
becuase they are valve fanboys, jk.

I dont know the real reason. :/ :\

TF2, L4D, The battlefield series, counter strike Track Mania are all heavy multiplayer games. So yes I would, but as someone else said, only for the PC. The communities are better through my experience.
Consoles, I need a single player mode that's at least decent before I spend the money on it.

Only TF2. I voted no, but I did buy that game for that reason (since it has no single player). It is the one multiplayer game that I love to play online.

Never have, but the next time Steam has a sale on Shattered Horizon I'll buy it. So much fun dicking around in zero gravity. ^^

I enjoy multiplayer, but I mainly play games as an artistic storytelling medium. Multiplayer doesn't qualify. At all.

Beyond that, most campaigns to most games have different things to offer; different stories, different situations, etc. Multiplayer... not so much. There are usually a few games out there that give you the best or most unique multiplayer experience in a certain category, and the rest just aren't worth it.

I play an enjoy multiplayer, but I wouldn't waste money on a game without a good single-player campaign.

It would have to be exceptional multiplayer. We're talking "whole new kind of experience" here, cause I mostly be games singleplayer.

Usually, I finish the single player on the hardest difficulty before I even look at multiplayer, so no, I would not buy a game for it's multiplayer only.

This criteria precludes you from buying Unreal Tournament, the best first person shooter ever released.

I pre-ordered MAG.

Played through as SVER, veteran'd, then went to Raven, got about half way there, got bored.

I got my moneys worth though, I was pleased.

Also used to play BF2142 a hell of a lot. Got my moneys worth and then some with that beast.

Sometimes I like to play multiplayer games, and provided that the gameplays solid I'm more than happy to pay for a game that has no single player.

EDIT - Forgot, I used to play unreal tournament quite a lot aswell. Yes, it has a single player, but it's barely worth noting. The entire experience with that game comes from the online play.

Not in a million years mostly because most multiplayer communities are full of BS. However, I would download this [http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source] a thousand times over to play it. And for me, it's almost a two-hour download.

Well, as has been mentioned repeatedly Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer only gem, aswell as Killing Floor which is hilarious with a group of friends.

EDIT: How could I forget CSS? /facepalm.

I guess I got MW2 just for multiplayer because after I played the first level of single player I just never went back to finish it because it just didn't compel me to.

I just realized the other day that I have over 7 days spent playing stupid MW2 and I don't even really like the game...i don't get how that happened. Too much time on my hands, I guess.

Multiplayer is overrated. It should be an added bonus and nothing more. I mean look at Uncharted 2, it delivers on both ends of the spectrum; thrilling single-player and decent multiplayer. It just sickens me when people laud multiplayer so much. EX: People were so quick to attack RE5's single player, but when it comes to MW2's unforgivably short single player campaign, they pretend it doesn't exist.
