So lets say hypothetically some sort of device that allows you to merge two people into one, a little like in Dragon Ball Z, is invented.
The change is permanent.
It cannot be done more than once.
The two people must be the same sex.
The resulting person is a normal human (46 chromosomes), except they have the combined memories and personality of the two people, as well as the combined physical characteristics both good and bad. A fat guy and a skinny guy would make an average person. Chronic diseases would be halved in severity. The age would be the average of both people. Pretty much every factor like height, weight etc would be the average of the two people, plus a little bit extra roughly (25-75%) depending on the people.
Fusing would only be able to be done over the age of 18. There are laws in place to prevent an 80year old fusing with an 18year old just to live longer, each case of fusing must get approval from a medical board. Legally the fused person owns all the stuff of both people, but things like marriages and careers have to be sorted out on a case to case basis.
My question is would you fuse with another person? Explain you're reasoning why you would or wouldn't. Who would that person be?
I might do it with one of my very close and old friends, if they were willing?
Edit: Alright, because some people are saying that there aren't really any advantages. New rules. The fusion has a greater intelligence and physical condition than the two individuals. It's not 2x, but it's significantly greater.
Edit2: New ability, you can possibly save someones life by fusing with them when they have a mortal injury, you make it 50% of what it is.
