Why not both? Why not all? Those I cared about are now my enemies. I wish I had a gun. I would place it in their hands, grip them tightly, and force them to squeeze the trigger at my heart. I would die laughing, for I have beaten the system.

I figure I'll probably be estranged from my family in a few years anyway, so probably family.

my close friends are like my family(and despite the low moments I've had with some members I LOVE my family to death) so much that I consider them brothers(and one sister :) from different mothers so however you slice it I obviously lose. But given that all immediate friends and family are Christians (so that means I'll see them again) like me I'd just flip a coin go with the coins ruling mourn whoever dies and eventually move on with my life.

Hell, take my grandparents. I don't know their names or even speak the same language, so I'd rather they died than lose anyone close to me.

It depends which friend and what immediate family member.
I am closer to some then others, so I can't choose when it is that vague.

A close friend. I'm 15, friends come and go, but until I'm ready to actually sort shit out myself, my Mum and Dad are still here to shield me from the world's crap. I'm not an adult, my friends are great, but they can't protect me when I need protecting.

I'd say close friends cause i have a few of them, whereas my immediate family is just my bro and my dad. *knocks on wood* Keeping it hypothetical, but i imagine it would suck less. Not by much though.

I'll rather loose a family member then, seeing how I'm not interrested in loosing one of the few close friends I have. And as a plus, if I lost one from my family there would be one less person on earth that tries to change who I am and only complains about my unusual personal traits =/

That's really morbid. Are you okay?

Family Member. A family member is someone who you're attached to and know just because of luck. A close friend is something you develop yourself and choose to associate yourself with.

Well, I have a great many friends who I deem to be 'close', and many of them I could survive losing far more easily than I could immediate family. I do like my family, but I find myself desperate for more space and independence, and there are maybe 3 or 4 people who I'd rather keep in my life, especially as they tend to have large families, all of whom I am close to that would be affected.
