Sean Connery. The ultimate Bond. While I admit the others were good, Sean Connery just manages to pull ahead and win.

I don't have a favorite one. I have a favorite 3. I like Connery, Moore, and Craig. To hard to decide.
My favourite is Daniel Craig. The new Casino Royal was the first bond film that i did not just enjoy as a good action/ spy film but an awsome film in general. That is not even taking into account the poker scenes which were EPIC! I liked how he was less action focused yet the action was the best, if not as over the top, in the series.
Connery, then Craig. Pierce Brosnan was a horrible Bond IMO, at least for all the movies after Goldeneye, that was the only decent one.
I happen to think that Moore encompasses most of the traits that make Bond... Bond. Connery is the most bad-ass hands down, but I think he's a little rough around the edges. He plays Bond like Bogart would play him. It's cool, but I don't feel the character is like that. On the other hand, Brosnan is all British charm and ladies' man, but you get the feel like he has a double to do every scene that isn't pleasin' the ladies. Lazenby and Dalton don't work for me. Dalton doesn't look like an Englishman (or a hero) and Lazenby... I dunno. He just wasn't convinving to me. I haven't seen the new one, so I can't really say anything about Craig.
So while Moore is definitly one of the "softer" Bonds, I think his portrayal of the character hits most of the marks while not topping any of them.

It was a toss-up between Connery and Craig for me; both capture the "elegant thug" aspect very well, whereas most of the other Bonds forgot the "thug" part. In the end I came down in favour of Craig because he came closest to the Bond in the novels... though it was pretty much a coin flip.
That being said, I enjoyed Lazenby's performance and thought that On Her Majesty's Secret Service was one of the better Bond films... he just needed to look a bit more like a killer and I'd have put him up with Connery.
