Poll: Your Favorite Starter

I've only ever played the first two generations, so here are my favorites for them.

For Red/Blue version, I chose Charmander first. Yeah, the first two gym fights were a *****, but everything was smooth sailing after that. I unintentionally found out that a high level Charizard is indestructible; I would only train him on my first play through, and he was over 70 by the time I got to the Elite 4. (I also caught Mewtwo with a standard pokeball after almost one-shotting him with Charizard, neener neener neener.)

As for Gold/Silver, I chose Totodile. As it turns out, Feraligatr is also freaking powerful and awesome.

Why is Mudkip so popular? I assume it has something to do with the internet, but still...

idk. I really like Chimchar (I have breed about two boxes of them to make one with good stats) but I will always hold a special place in my heart for Bulbasaur (Leaf Green was the first Pokemon game I beat) and I sent my lvl. 80 Venusaur to Pearl where he is now lvl. 86. So yeah, I'd have to say Bulbasaur because I raised it like, 81 levels.

I definitely have a soft spot for Charmander but I still think Torchic is the best. A kung-fu fire-chicken? That's about four or five kinds of awesome right there.

The gold/silver starters have been glossed over with the current generation; they have nothing to set them apart from the others. Hopefully that will be addressed in the remake.

I only ever played red version. I always picked Charmander, even though he was probably the weakest of the three starters, because I thought that Charizard was the shit.

Cyndaquil. It starts off cute, then evolves into something cool, and finally into something badass. I've always liked Cyndaquil, and it used to be my starter every time I restarted Gold, Silver or Crystal.

Cyndaquil was always the best. I knew he was awesome the second I saw that he shot fire out of his back. On top of that Typhlosion is ridiculously strong.

D/P/P- Turtwig, I suppose, seeing as I don't have a DS. But when I saw that he turns into a fucking dinosaur, I thought he looked the part.

I was reading down the thread and was like 'Where's the love for Totodile?'
He's gotta be my favorite, since I always lean towards water-types anyway.
Besides, he evolves into Feraligatr, which is like a cross between an alligator and Godzilla. Can't beat that.


On an unrelated note, Blaziken kicketh much arse.
