Mine is Legendary Super Saiyan. It looks so badass and it has unlimited energy output. So awesome ^_^

It happened in one of the movies, so you could argue that it's not really cannon. When he's fighting Lord Slug he gets angry and turns into the False Super Saiyan. It's not as powerful as the real thing and doesn't last as long. There isn't enough mental anguish to go full Super Saiyan or something like that.

Super Saiyan 2, the Cell games were my favourite episodes. Teen Gohan was one of my first crushes. Well, I say crush, I was 8 so I wanted him to be real and for him to think I was cool.

I prefer Legendary Super Saiyan. Broly pretty much turns into the Saiyan's version of the Incredible Hulk. His hair even turned green. And what a performance!

Ascended and Ultras look like they're going to explode, 2's are just regulars with more glowing hair, 3's and 4's are just terrible designs, and Perfected Supers just don't seem as threatening without the danger glow.

Also, perfected supers are weak against rocks.

OT: My favorite would probably be Ascended Super Saiyan. It makes sense, Vegeta sacrificing speed for more power to kick the crap out of Cell.

I guess I wasn't paying attention (or the show wasn't on long enough when I did watch it back in my day) because the last thing I saw in DBZ was the pink Boo dude in a tournament fight and there was just Super Saiyan. There must be way more DBZ than I realized...

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Super spikey hair, super golden aura, lightning bolts crawling around the body, and most importantly: you still have eyebrows.

Fun thing to imagine: Raditz going SSJ3. :3

In all honesty, I think I like Legendary SSJs better because they only showed up in the films. The films were pretty much entire seasons worth of combat shoved into hour long punch ups that delivered when the pacing of the shows fell flat.

It was nice to just see Broly scream KAKAROOOOOT! and turn Legendary in fifteen seconds, instead of fifteen episodes. Cut the bullshit, get to the clubbing match.

But overall I think SSJ4 is just awesome.

On topic: Super Saiyan if only because I think it had the best execution with both build up and the method behind it. At its first invocation nobody really knew what to expect, and the fact that Goku tapped into it instinctively rather than through conscious effort better fit the idea of it as some legendary quality rather than something that hard work alone might unlock (like every other variant of it). Granted though, this kinda went to pieces with the "Super Saiyan bargain sale" in the Buu arc, but still, when it was first unveiled, it was perfect. It was primal, it was powerful and it made a very nice climax to the arc.
