This game came out a couple of days ago and its a really good classic style Final Fantasy (similar to FFI-VI). It features the job system which is a welcome style for me. However the price of $28 for the complete game I feel is very off putting for many gamers.

Especially since this is released on the IOS and Android market where games normally remain in the 99 cent to $10 range. The prologue is free (about 30 mins to an hour of content) but then you have to pay the $28 for all the chapters. I'm curious for those that have bought it and those waiting to buy it what their thoughts on FF:D is?

Personally I think this is a great 2D FF that is just getting crapped on because SE doesn't know the meaning of market testing prices.

For those who have never even heard of the game I posted a youtube link of gameplay footage.

I'd love to give it a try, except, it's not on the Android Play Store?

What exactly is iOS? Does it mean I can't play this without an iPhone or Android phone?

I would gladly shell out the money otherwise.
Yes that means you would need an iphone or android phone in order to play this game. For sure its out on the iOS but the android I think is coming out later this week.

Wow, that looks like a Flash game that someone set up in a couple of hours.

Hey, looks cool. Just not sure if its worth that price tag. I do like my old-school RPGs though.
Now, if only they could made a current-gen console Final Fantasy sequel that played like the older installments... then Id be happy.

How much content are we talking here?

If it has about the same amount as one of the 16-bit Final Fantasies, then $28 is still on the expensive side, but not unreasonably so. Then again, I could get FF3 for my Android phone for a little over half the price of this game.

I'm only about a 1/3rd through the game and I am clocked at 15 hours. I believe its 50+ hours total from what some people are saying.

I agree that the price tag is very expensive. That's why I am very mad that SE put a classic style FF with such a high price tag.

Edit: also this game is a bit unique since it has 2 groups you go back and forth between. The warriors of light and dark taking place in both the light and dark worlds (duh).

There are many familiar classes like paladin, dark knight, bard, ranger, warrior, red mage, summoner, and dragoon. Of course you also have the basic classes like thief, black mage, white mage, etc etc.
