Lol at that comment first comment.
Is that you plugging yourself? If so, stop that

EDIT: Ah, ok you took it off.

I like pixel art. I did a lot in minecraft when I played, one was a 100x100 pixel art of toonlink that took a long, long time, but turned out great.

If you are copying/editing someone elses sprites it takes no talent. If you make your own from scratch it does.

It takes skill, yes. Even in something like MSPaint, you need to understand how colours affect each other in limited space. There's more to it than simply "painting by numbers".

Not exactly the best examples, but the best ones I've currently got access to...

Agreed, I would imagine it is rewarding to do something like that. On such a grand scale I'm sure it was nice to finish a piece and have it turn out well.

it's a yes and no question, if you just copy someone elses sprites and design, that's just being very lazy and plagaristic, but if you make them from scratch (aside from being very rewarding) i think it can take quite a bit of skill, especially in colour, shading and quality

i'm not very good at pixel art, but i want to keep improving

That makes sense. I'm actually designing a game at the moment (it's a one man show, so it won't be fantastic) but I've been trying to work more with pixels lately because of it.

good for you, if you make it a flash based game, host it on newgrounds or something, i wouldn't mind playing it when its done
